Met informally with some players and officials from Hugh Dixon's club, the Kingston Tigers last night. Feedback very positive. Hugh loves everything about being drafted to Fremantle and being a professional footballer. Fremantle is concentrating on getting Hugh's body right and ready for the demands of the training required at AFL level. Hugh has spoken about becoming a 200 game player for the club, so he is obviously very happy and can see a future with Fremantle. It was interesting that everyone I have spoken to talks about the enormous upside with Hugh. Injuries, largely unrelated to football (ex. broken hand and fingers from diving into a shallow river, serious ankle injury playing basketball, arm injury mucking around, etc) ruined the two seasons before 2017. Even in 2017 he didn't have a pre season, though he began to focus on footy. AFL Tasmania really put some work into him in the six weeks after the end of the Div 1 U/18 Championships in preparation for the Draft Combine. He dropped 6 kgs, became much fitter and began playing up the ground toward the end of the TSL year. Kingston Tigers senior team only won 3 or so games for the year, and lost their last 2 games easily. Yet, in those two games Dixon kicked 5 goals and 3 goals and was close to best on ground in both. Hugh hurt is back at the U/18 Combine after playing in the All Stars game on grand final day. He has been heavily restricted in his training since. It would seem that Fremantle medics have him sorted now. Let's hope he can play at Fremantle, to the best of his ability, for many years.
Bloody legend. Hugely appreciated insights mate

Puts Zac Clarke's music festival fiasco in the shade.

Only needs a head injury to complete the set.
