First round picks Convo is interesting. Correct me if I'm wrong, but with Gary gone last year and mcveigh retiring the only genuine first rounders (excluding the academy blokes) on the list are florent and Hayward.

Bringing in a new era of successful first rounders? What a dream.

I'd take Daniher even with his injury troubles over most of those.

Really?

if I'm being a prick I count maybe 6 and some question marks still

Off the back of the last two years, would take one player in every draft before him with exception for 2016 - can argue SPS though
No way I would take SPS. Particularly with his baggage. Talk of him leaving Port and not for a particularly lucrative return for them either.

Essentially we're a 1/3 chance of getting someone you'd take before Daniher? I'd rather just take Daniher than end up with a Toumpas, KK, Pickett or Scharenberg.

Looking at it Toumpas, sharenburg (injury) and pickett. Kk player to standard then concussions

You are thinking SPP... SPS is carlton winger. Silky.

Yup. I would say we are maybe a 60/40 chance of getting Daniher right and maybe 25/75 chance of getting him to 2017 form again.

Most above would be at least best 22 in our line up.

Oops, my bad. SPS is a jet.

Difference is though, most of them would be best 22. Daniher would be a game-changer. Even in the ANZAC Day match this year he was close to the most important player on the ground.

If he was proven fit, agree. Rate him as a player

Just have a really, really off feeling about getting him in. No idea why, gut feel that his injuries have cooked him.

...Parish, Setterfield

Ainsworth, LDU still have a point to prove and King is an unknown

Parish has been solid for ess. 10-16 list player.
Setterfield had injury two years ago IIRC and tagged at Carlton. Was weird choice for him as tagger.

Flip side is Bont, De Goey, Rozee, Macrae, Oliver, Marchback Cerra, etc.

I would have thought there were more misses than great choices.

Your not making the pick so I wouldn't care that much. Pick 4 is fine to give up

Exactly. I trust the club enough to know where the list is at in regards to what we should be looking at with pick 4 and the worth of it. The status of your list from year to year does not dictate you have to keep taking pimply faced 65kg stick men who may not see an AFL Arena if there up to it for the best part of 3 years.

The club in its draft history of Top 10 picks have never picked an Ablett Snr or Jnr so its long odds against that pick 4 won't be either of those.

and in the history of the draft neither an Ablett Snr or Jr was picked in the Top 10 so trading our pick is fine if that is the goal as well;)

you can read that list of players multiple ways.

Dalrymple's 3 selections have been Macrae, stringer, and bont.

Several of the misses are injury related.

Toumpas is the only straight up bust. And Pickett obviously has off field issues.
