It will be very interesting how much list are reduced by,, and what players are forced out. Could be a lot of cheap (but quality) trades to be had.
If Paps goes, we'll have 2 top 10 picks..
- do we trade - happy with Campbell & Gulden at the draft and trade in a couple of guns?
- do we draft as best possible (Campbell + Gulden + 1-2 top 10 picks) and get some of the cheap trades on offer due to reduced list sizes. mature players that can offer support to the many young guys coming through,, and,, 3rd to 4th year players with potential but not getting game time

both options have positives and negatives to them..
I reckon all clubs need to take advantage of every situation, and there's likely to be some very good 'value for money' trades on offer due to list sizes decreasing
Im happy to keep building through the draft if we can pick up a couple of good value mature recruits - a 'fit & free' Daniher is a big piece to this puzzle

We all assume that he is still willing to come. The trade wasn’t done and who knows to what extent he views that as our fault

He might not be fit.. Dodo might match the offer and force a trade and demand 2 x 1st round picks.. in both scenarios, we probably don't want him

Did we have a crack at Pittonet? Seems ideal in retrospect - which is easy admittedly.
Losing Cameron, and having only Knoll in reserve of a guy coming back from an ACL - was not an ideal plan.

Im not sure another expensive injury riddled forward is what we need, because forget the notion of getting him cheap or anything of the irk.

Daniher if he gets here will be a 800k 4yr deal which is fine if he is on the field.

Would only want him on league average 1 yr deal with option for second. Anything more than that has huge potential as a club killer.
Not that I expect him here. It was always about forcing a new contract from the Don's IMO. I expect he's done, like his brother was with the same injury.

Richmond player. Also goes by RCD or something like that. He was a first round draft pick about 2 years ago. He is a big bodied midfielder.
Collier-Dawkins I think. Tall like Bont. Has he been filling out? Anyone keeping track of his games? I imagine he'll be ready next year to be getting in their team.
Wasn't he a Swans fan ?

Oh right. Amazing how you take one name out of a hyphenated surname and the brain becomes completely confused.

But yep agreed, big wraps for RCD

I heard that last year he was struggling to acclimatise in the VFL, which was surprising but also not unheard of for a first year player. Not sure how he's gone since then but he's a natural that's for sure.

Interesting.
Is he another private school kid? We might need some more bogan or farmboy mullet power in the team tbh. Bailey Smith style hard at it and quick.
Getting in all these nice boys with high draft picks hasn't done much for us so far tbh.

Bailey Smith is the very definition of a private school kid. 90% of kids in the AFL these days are from the private schools because of how ****** up and insular the system is. Jake Niall did a pretty thorough article on the recruitment of prospects from private schools last year that's worth a read.

But RCD is hard at it, most importantly just very smart, has good instincts in traffic and can win a contested ball cleanly.
