Possibly, one day, but you need to be less flaky and play to your strengths.
Will be staged at Marvel... crowd or no crowd.
7:25pm start... need buffer with Cox Plate.

Will be staged at any state that can have fans attend. If that is multiple states it will be the state with the ground with highest amount of people who can attend.
Gil is trying to flog it, looking for bids - in the current environment why would any State see it as worth anything?

It will be Queensland as a move to grow the game in a non-heartland state. Nothing surer.
No it doesn't, these are exceptional times. People aren't freely able to travel between states.

Given the WA Premier has just given the AFL a huge public backhander, I think we can now rule Optus Stadium out. It'll be a night GF at the Gabba

Entire Oktoberfest finals series in QLD up there at cazalys crossing the Metricon riverways to the gift of the Gabba via vulture GF street. Isa think we Cairns do it.
Pregame entertainment should be medley of popular Brisbane acts. E.g. Saints, Powderfinger, Regurgitator, Darren Hayes, Hatchie, Cub Sport, Violent Soho, Robert Forster, Custard, Riptides, etc. etc.
Twilight trial one-off, 'tis the season to be tinkery, but revert to afternoon GF forevermore. Think of the other AFL #1 sporting nation in Nauru! They will be an hour ahead of AEDT!

The Veronicas and Sheppard are also from Brissie... realistically, one suspects they'd fit the AFL's brand better than any of the bands you listed

see my "etc. etc." They were just examples ("e.g.") of what Brissie has to offer. I completely agree that The Veronicas (who by now have a comp full of hits) and Sheppard (for 2-3 songs which is all that is needed) would fit the bill just right.
Even if WA locks up, I don't see how Brisbane would get the grand final over Adelaide.

There have been articles that have said the decision would be made in late August.
You'd think they'll delay it as long as they can....So late August (6-8 weeks prep time?) would be about right.

One additional factor I just realised...
QLD election is Oct 31.
Does anyone think there is a government in the country that, coming into a close election they're looking like losing, wouldn't throw a few million at getting an event like the AFL GF a week or two before the polls?
