Hahaha woops. I should have read the podcast title better. I thought you were talking about Burgoyne.
I need a lie down.
If no bids come in for him, he is ours with our last pickSomebody saying Burgoyne can be taken with the "last live pick in the main draft" if no bids for him come in from elsewhere.
I thought if no bids were received, then clubs could nominate to take any FS's with "their last live picks in the rookie draft", and no other club could rookie them if so nominated?
Had a listen to this after I heard the Jase Burgoyne one - his name was inspired by The Alice's Restaurant bloke, but he's a huge fan of James Blunt(!) and a Crows fan to boot. Barge pole! Barge pole! Actually, aside from that he sounds like a pretty good lad really.

If no one bids for him then we either take him with our last live pick or we will automatically rookie him. That's the benefit of nominating him, you have him guaranteed as a rookie, if there are no bids, as there is no bidding in the rookie draft.Somebody saying Burgoyne can be taken with the "last live pick in the main draft" if no bids for him come in from elsewhere.

Haha I asked on here the other day if his folks were fans of Arlo Guthrie as that is the only Arlo I know of. I was thinking at the time gotta have the nickname Alice, if that is the case.
Willinga lad, the crows type.Good question - from his parents apparently. He was born in Tasmania, so they moved to Adelaide well after the Crows started (and even their last premiership), so you think they probably would've barracked for one of the Victorian teams, unless they came from SA originally and only went to Tassie for a period.

Interesting so he doesn't have Draper, Goater or Sonsie in that group.Twomey saying a clear top 14 players in the draft. Evens out from 15-35. Makes more sense why we moved up.
I dropped this idea into the corresponding Tiger draft board some time back and didn't get much traction. The general consensus and antipathy there was two-fold: 1) the Port's 2022 2nd rounder will most likely by closer to #40 than #30, so it's probably unbalanced, and 2) that a bird in the hand etc - that getting an extra year into a player now is better than speculating on who can be picked up next year.If looking to trade back into the 2nd round Richmonds 26/27/28 maybe up for grabs?
Mitch Knevitt happens to slip that low is it worth putting up next year's 2nd if Richmond are interested?
Just call him WoodyHaha I asked on here the other day if his folks were fans of Arlo Guthrie as that is the only Arlo I know of. I was thinking at the time gotta have the nickname Alice, if that is the case.

The only way I could see Richmond offering it up is if we fill our boots with 4 players who totally satisfy list needs with #7, #15, #26 and #27 and hence see #28 as dispensable, and that there's a sweetener on top of Port's 2022 2nd Round (eg. swap of 2022 Port 3rd round for Richmond 4th).
From Port's pov, there would need to be a real slider still available at #28 to even consider this, to which I would say why wouldn't Richmond just take this player ourselves?
Anyway, best of luck with the draft and thanks for hearing me out. Appreciating the sensible draft chat on your board.

Maybe the list managers think the upside for the squad from getting rid of ladhams as well as the upside from the player we get in balances out the losses seen by trading himMoving up is one thing
Giving up a 1st 22 23yr old tall player to climb up 4 spots to a pick is another.
Odds are against our recruiter picking up a clearly better player than Ladhams at 12.
The odds that our recruiter picks up a better player than Ladhams and the player we would have taken at 16 is pretty long.
It’s now up to Parker to save our list management teams asses… yet again.
