I’d be giving up on him in any offensive role and try to use his athletic gifts to become a stopper in defence because he is definitely a great athlete.
The problem with that is that good defenders know how to read the the play, and use judgement on when and how to negate their opponent.

Dmac was a very good athlete who looked no so good early on ahs his football IQ was poor. When his footy smart improved he became a good player for us.

Unfortunately Allision just does not seem to be improving his football smarts.

Pretty rare is it that a great athlete without footy smarts make it. I think probably the best example of one making it was Nic Nat. He could see ball get ball, but around the ground when he had to read the play and apply judgement he was not so good. But up ball ups he knew exactly where the ball would be and with that leap could win the tap outs. At these same ball ups his burst speed and power saw also saw him able to win the ball on the ground to see ball, get ball and then burst away with it. His athleticism made him a real weapon. And WC used him in a way to exploit what he was good at.

I have followed him pretty closely as his dad is very good mates with a friend of mine and i cant recall him ever playing well as a key forward , when i say well he may have kicked a goal here and there but i don't recall a bag of 4 or more .
Not a chance in hell he makes it , TBH i don't think he wants to be out there , maybe more family pressure why he is playing
Allison isn’t the problem - he won’t make it & that happens - but the guy who decided to extend his contract for 2 years should be named & shamed!

St Kilda Football Club will deepen its affiliation with Sandringham Football Club moving into Season 2024 and beyond, introducing various initiatives to bring the two organisations closer together.

The streamlined alignment will see multiple development and integration opportunities beginning from this coming pre-season, both in the player, coaching and administration ranks to enhance VFL involvement within the club’s AFL program.

Headlining the new initiatives is a commitment by St Kilda to use one of its rookie list places to draft a Sandringham player, commencing next year.

Select Sandringham players will also have the option of being involved with St Kilda’s main training sessions both in-season and during pre-season, having full access to club facilities and amenities including the gym, meals and ability to be involved in specialised sessions.

The same will be applicable for Sandringham’s coaching staff, who will be able to learn from Saints development coach/Zebras senior coach JakeBatchelor, Head of Development and Learning Damian Carroll and Development Coach Brendon Goddard to gain valuable experience in an elite environment.

As part of each clubs’ commitment to closer align, St Kilda will appoint a VFL Liaison Officer to streamline the processes and overlap associated, while Sandringham has appointed a Recruiting Manager for next season.

“The relationship we have with Sandringham Football Club is one we are immensely pleased to deepen moving forward,” St Kilda Executive General Manager of Football David Misson said.

“St Kilda and Sandringham have been closely linked in an official capacity for 15 years now. Many of our club’s greatest players in Trevor Barker, Ian Cooper, Bob Murray and Jeff Sarau have been involved with the yellow, black and blue, and we hope to see more of today’s names become synonymous with both clubs.

We are excited at what the new and emerging opportunities we have will bring and hope that as a result, both St Kilda and Sandringham will be strengthened in multiple means.

- Executive General Manager of Football, David Misson
As part of St Kilda’s existing affiliation with Sandringham, non-selected players are eligible to play from the Zebras in the VFL competition.

Sandringham CEO Marcus Ashcroft said he was excited at the prospects next season’s unified approach would bring.

“The Sandringham Football Club is grateful for the opportunities our strong integration with the St Kilda Football Club is going to provide,” Ashcroft said.

“There is a genuine AFL pathway providing many elite initiatives for our VFL program.

“We appreciate the support and value our close relationship with the St Kilda Football Club and we really look forward to our 2024 season.”

Then we have to pick another one by the sounds of it.
Yeah but I don’t think that’s how we’re looking at it. I think we want to rookie the best not the second best.

The logo and playing kit need a complete overhaul. That cartoon zebra is the worst and the colours are terrible.

I would make yellow the highlight colour with a base of blue and black. It could look amazing like the Melbourne Storm style, but it's a total mess right now.

I know there are more important areas of concern but it still should be changed eventually.

I honestly don’t think we’re that fussed about who it is as long as it’s someone.

I didn’t think it was a great idea when I first heard it but now I’m thinking there’ll probably be a line a kilometer long with players wanting to sign with Sandringham. Could be a good thing.

If this is seen as a pathway back into AFL for a VFL player it is a good thing and should attract a better player type.

When Sandy-Saints alignment was working we had 5 or 6 really good footballers...Cockie Cooke Noone and a few others who were experienced players who provided backbone to the newly listed Saints players, rather than a busted up Saints player on limited minutes seeking to return to AFL line up almost enduring minutes at VFL.

Most players at any level form a bond when they get to know and train with each other. This hopefully starts to happen next year...the results should be in the scorelines.

The club is probably hoping to find the next Marshall, Wilkie or Sinclair. Guys who, for whatever reason were overlooked in their draft year. If it helps us find the next one of them it will be worth it.

They are trying to improve on the s*** sandwich that is our 2nds development side.
They can and do find overages from country wide already.
