The missing link in our midfield
I was thinking about it today more so not about the drafts but the sort of ages of players etc, grouping Bice with the 2000 born guys rather than the 2006 born guys or whenever he was drafted.A few random tidbits pertaining to our 2018 draft, which I think is still Kinnear Beatson's crowning achievement.
- With Sam Wicks set to play his 100th game this week, after Hayden McLean did so last week, he'll become the fifth player from that draft to reach 100 AFL games for us. I can't be arsed looking all the history up, but I can't imagine there have been many cases of a single draft producing five 100-gamers for their club.
- With James Rowbottom set to play his 153rd game this week, he joins his BFF Nick Blakey as the no. 1 & no. 2 players from that national draft to have played the most games.
We'll moan and groan about our recruiting but that year was a good'n.

Beatson randomly that one year:Those are some crazy stats. 5 players reach 100 games! And 2 of them are at the top. Wow, and the shenanigans
I take nearly all of it back, Beatson's a genius!
.... Of the 2018 draft
Yeah but that was considered a super draft.A few random tidbits pertaining to our 2018 draft, which I think is still Kinnear Beatson's crowning achievement.

Sure, but it wasn't considered a super draft because of Rowbottom, McInerney, Wicks or McLean. The former two were so-called "bolters" and the latter two were taken as a Cat B rookie and a pre-season supplementary pick respectively. So we didn't conform to the pundits' consensus yet still came out winners of the "super draft."Yeah but that was considered a super draft.
But if Armatey goes & we end up with a high draft pick .... Heath Mellody is the next Hayden Young.
Don't we have enough injured draft picks?
How long is Ladhams contract ?Don't we have enough injured draft picks?
How long is Ladhams contract ?

You've become way too cynical in your old age!
He re-signed for two late last year I think. How long is Ladhams contract ?
Only reason i said this if he's not getting regular AFL games he might want out and the Tigers badly needing a ruck might be interested and will have a few early picks and we can try and pick up a back up ruck who might be happy to come from a lower level and there are a few good ones.He re-signed for two late last year I think.
Yeah, just like Serong with Hawthorn, it wouldn't surprise me at all. They are too talented to be playing VFL.Only reason i said this if he's not getting regular AFL games he might want out and the Tigers badly needing a ruck might be interested and will have a few early picks and we can try and pick up a back up ruck who might be happy to come from a lower level and there are a few good ones.
Please don't attack as im just following the name of this thread
And we need picks with the Tassie concessions comingYeah, just like Serong with Hawthorn, it wouldn't surprise me at all. They are too talented to be playing VFL.
You'd have to think that many, many teams would be looking closely at both Pistol and McLean. They would both be best 23 at plenty of other clubs.
I think we will trade out of this year and risk 2026 ppl to get to rookie draft to build up points for 2027. The crop is top notchHopefully for future picks.... especially with our 2027 academy crop
You have to give up some reasonably decent players , i have a coupleI think we will trade out of this year and risk 2026 ppl to get to rookie draft to build up points for 2027. The crop is top notch
