Looks like the sort of player who'll develop into an ultra reliable John Blakey type. And, unlike Nick Blakey, we didn't have to pay overs to get him.

I think the hope is that we'll have a run of 24-25 game seasons, but yeah, 400 is unreachable for most mortals as they need to still be playing into their late 30s to get there.

Which puts it where 2022?

That's the year I think we should be looking at for it to really start to come together. 20 to 50 games into LDU, TT, Taylor, Scott, Haydon, Perez, Will Walker, Comben, Mahoney, and our two top ten draft picks this year. Simpkin is an established star with about 80 games and Zurhaar and Larkey are seasoned professionals with 50 plus.

There's an old thread somewhere on records that will never be broken. One of the most common suggestions was Tuck's 426.

So while it's unlikely, you never know.

No, he certainly wasn't. I was referring to Nick, who is a total flog.

Blakey Snr is one of my all-time favourites. Should be in the AFL Hall of Fame.

Solid game. Head over the ball. Ran to make a link up contest. Kicks goals. Smart.

Competes, regardless of the size of the opponent or how many there are. Little warrior. Saw him dish some bumps out, and ride one or two, against bigger blokes. Club might have had reservations about his size, but man he's making it work with what he already has.

Did some really nice things. The fact he is automatic in front of goal helps.
