Ladies and gentleman, will we be the first side to win at Subiaco this year?????? I believe we have a pretty good chance despite far from convincing performance today. If Scott Welsh stays away from the Weight Room, he should be ready to play this week. No injuries to report so far so one would persume there will be only one change.

IN: Welsh
OUT: Who??????

Will be interesting to see how the Weagles respond to todays thumping to the Saints. With the Saints winning record at the Dome, our loss isn't looking as bad as it did at the time (just don't pick the Saints away from the Deome!) The Weages are getting some key injuries now. Wirripunda out with a knee injury is a big loss. Will Gardiner be back? If not, I feel we have a good chance of winning the midfield & wimming this game ... particularly if Stinger STARTS the game on Cuz before the game is over.

Whats this thing about Wirrpunda's knee??????

Gardiner is expected to miss the game against us. WC are really getting some injuries now as are Port as well. Primus appears to have done the same ligament damage again, so his season might be just about over.

As far as Eagles go, they are missing Gardiner, Embley and Fletcher and boy are these 3 the big losses. All 3 have been in superb form. If Wirrpunda doesn't play then there is no excuses if we lose this one.

Wirra did his knee today, but hopefully not too serious to be season ending. However, most likely to be out next week. So with the under-rated Embley & Fletcher also missing, & probably Gardiner too, there is no excuse why we can't beat the Weagles.

Anyone... that just goes according the the luck Adelaide's had this year with injuries.
We have been alright lately. Nowhere near as bad as earlier in the season. Although, I would like us to get a settled line up (especially forward line) from now on running into the finals

I think the one good thing about our win today is that many of our players had only just okay games and we still won.

This is our greatest chance to get the Eagles at Subi and we have to treat it as such - that we are targeting them. No Gardiner, Fletcher, Embley and maybe Wirrpunda is a loss of a hunk of quality for West Coast. We should have Welsh back and barring Stevens and to a lesser degree Massie that's full strength (and of couse we haven't virtually had Stevo all year).

The ground has never had any fear for us, so it's just a matter of reproducing our best form in that hostile environment, the house of pain.

West Coast were found out badly today without their missing stars. I'm genuinely expecting the Crows to win this one.

Massie, Welsh and Stevens are pissing me off though.

Begley.

How did Turbo go with the Eagles?

I would not underestimate the Eagles even with their injuries - they still have some big KPP's that can trouble us - remember Quinetn Lynch?

Jackovich on Carey should be a beauty.

Yeah 3 of them are a bit of a worry.

Not surprised with Massie as he has been carrying that injury for a month prior to being given a rest. He plays pretty physical sort of game and it does take its toll on his rather suspect body.

Welsh just needs to fine tune his technique when he lifts weights. It looks like he is putting too much strain on his back.

Stevens is the biggest worry for me. He should be OK after getting a bit of a knock on the weekend. If he can stay injury free he should be back for the Showdown. *fingers crossed*

I was thinking about Begley as well but he played OK today. He looks the most likely one to miss out.

I reckon Jakovich will play CHF for the Eagles. McGregor should get him.;)

Can only be Begley or Bode, and neither got a heap of game time today.

McGregor will handle Jackovich well IMO and could embarrass him a bit by continually running off of him.

Bode must be given more game time. He cannot play well if he is only given 10-15 minutes a game. Just give him 3 quarters of footy and he will not let you down.

McGregor got Jakovich earlier in the year and did a pretty good job. McIntosh had Carey.

Key Match Ups

Tyson Stenglein Vs Ben Cousins
I just hope that this time around Tyson gets the job from the word go. He has a good record against Cousins and should get the job again.

Tyson Edwards Vs Ashley Sampi / Phil Matera
Sampi has really stepped up this year and is showing why he was rated so highly before the draft. He has been a regular goal kicker and will demand attention. Matera has had a great year and is by far the Eagles' most dangerous forward. I am really undecided whether to play Edwards on Matera or on Sampi.:(

Jason Torney Vs Ashely Sampi / Phil Matera
He proved against Milne that he is capable of playing on small nippy forward. So he should take one of Sampi or Matera. Probably Sampi.

Robert Shirley Vs Daniel Kerr
Appears to be the obvious match up. Shirley has been doing sensational tagging jobs of late and Kerr looks the obvious choice. Shirley also played really well on Cousins in the pre-season game in Darwin

Brett Burton Vs Chris Judd
Although its unlikely to happen this would be worth the admission price alone. If they line up on each other then we are in for a good old fashioned shoot out.

We must take a leaf out of Port's book and totally strangle them in the midfield. Looking at Stiffy's match-ups

Tyson Stenglein Vs Ben Cousins
Tick. :)

Tyson Edwards Vs Ashley Sampi / Phil Matera
Tick. :)

Robert Shirley Vs Daniel Kerr

Brett Burton Vs Chris Judd
Cross. :( He must be cut out the game and Burton's not the man for that. Probably Ben Hart.

Keep these key players to average games - which is what Port did - and we will win.

Benny on Chris Judd?

Benny was in all sorts of trouble just trying to look after Micky O today - Judd will cut him to pieces, especially if he alternates between the forward line and midfield.

I think it's time for Mr. Stenglein to be handed a dossier... his mission, if he chooses to accept it: Judd. Chris Judd.
