Absolutely shattered for him. McCluggage too. Wingman is a genuine position, but when you've got inside mids picking the team this is what you get. No respect at all.

It was slim pickings in terms of alternatives though mate. Gunston on a flank I'd have been fine with but if we're talking small fowards there's no way Papley's year was AA worthy.

Gunston unlucky as a true forward and top 3 goal kicker

Butler and Papley also in Top 10 goalkicking

Max Gawn should be nowhere near this team. Goldy for me as the 2nd ruck, but really should've been Menegola.

Very happy to see Guthrie rewarded for a fantastic season. Really thought Menegola would get on the interchange, so strange they named players not even discussed

And if peeps aren't happy with Danger & Bont on the flanks, what about Dusty in the forward pocket?

Still the games best match winner and he helped influenced a few more matches than what Papley did for Sydney. Really mediocre year for forwards in general.

The AA team is really just AFL media's perfect supercoach side if all players were dual position players.
Would be nice if they stuck to their true positions.

Vlaustin and Menegola are the worst non-selections. Gunston missing out also a strange one.

I've seen him in nearly all predicted teams - it's not that surprising to see him make it
