Kinda helps when he is off the ground for half the game and only runs out his injury halfway into last quarter (ps Tarrant wasnt even near Buddy for most of the game, look at their heatmaps)
Half the game hahah missed what 10 mins started the 2nd qtr and played out it entirety!

So, Steven Motlop.

In 2013, he was in the AA Squad of 40. In 2016, he's barely been mentioned.

2013 H&A season - 21 games, 17.57 disposals per game, 4.10 inside 50s per game, 1.86 goals per game, 0.76 goal assists per game, 1.81 tackles per game, Champion Data Player Ranking Score Average of 83.83.

2016 H&A season - 22 games, 19.91 disposals per game, 4.45 inside 50s per game, 1.64 goals per game, 0.73 goal assists per game, 2.55 tackles per game, Champion Data Player Ranking Score Average of 85.23.

Why such a difference in perception between the years?

Yes. Cameron has been average this year. Patton is the form player.
Coming into today (...and fresh off Patton's 'career best game'):
Patton played 20 games for 29 goals.
Cameron 17 games for 48 goals.
Hmmm not sure if dumb or stupid?

What has things that happened more than a couple of weeks ago have to do with current form?
Because generally form is taken over a period of time, not off one game. Before last week he had played 19 games and kicked 23 goals, which is very mediocre.
Cameron has been consistently better (by a mile) over the season, so of course Tarrant plays on him...he's their best forward.

If Sam Reid kicks a bag one game, would you put your best defender on him instead of Buddy the following week?

He's been very up and down this year.

How about after he kicks his first 2 in the game? or 3? or 4?

Hence "shifted"

You can change matchups during a game, most decent coaches do...
I thought we were talking about Tarrant not Brad Scott. Point is Tarrant destroyed Cameron, hardly his fault that Scott is too incompetent to move him.
But then again argument could be made that Cameron will get going if the change is made... Just like, why move Tarrant off Buddy, if he is keeping him quiet. If it ain't broke don't fix it.
Scott could have tried to move someone else onto Patton though, because clearly Firritto wasn't winning.

Cause we know thats crap!! If tarrant wanst on him then buddy really sucked last week as he wouldnt hve had an oponent and still couldnt get near it

Find the overlap?

As said Franklin was injured, his performance had nothing to do with Tarrant, as Tarrant was barely near him the entire night.

He wasnt running properly till midway through last quarter.

This isnt saying Tarrant hasnt had a great year, but people need to stop giving players plaudits for things they had nothing to do with.

You'll find they've been inflated in the 5 or so games that he actually cared about

Not big on heat maps but id say all that says is buddy got his touches on the wing and tarrant got his in the back half! Doesnt mean they didnt play on each other when buddy was inside 50! I guess what youre saying is buddy didnt go inside 50 the whole game?

Yes but this is kind of the point, its all very well to say Tarrant got ontop, but if GWS had the easy out in Patten, a part of that is simply because going forward GWS already had a very effective pathway to goal, so directed more ball that way.

If you'd watched the game you would already know that Buddy did spend most of his time up the ground / on the wing, he spent very little time inside 50.

Gaff is the perfect example of simply looking at stats rather than performances. His impact on games is not at the level of last year. Gaff won't be in the squad imo.

Shuey is a chance though and had a strong finish to the year which stays in the memory of the goldfish selectors.

Rampe, Franklin, Parker, Kennedy and Hannebery all strong chances for the team. Grundy might make the squad.

Yep, Scully much more deserving as an outside mid (although Gaff's last two games have been excellent).
