News Assistant Coach Discussion - Leigh Adams joining?

In the end it doesn't matter who coaches you, unless you send Dodo on his way you will only ever have a list that gets mid table finishes, that guy has you lot bamboozled into thinking he is top s**t despite the fact he has not recruited a list that has finished any higher than 7th since 2002 and no finals wins since 2004. Living off the early years in 99/00/01.
I would vehemently disagree on Dodorro, but that is for a different thread. If you want to discuss it in another thread, just put your argument there and link me in.

Im pretty sure there are clauses in assistants contracts that if they are offered a position higher than the won they have at their current club they can move.

I think you will find it is an Industry understanding - it is an accepted Principle and whether in the contract or not, so far that is how it has worked.

It will be interesting, given the $$$ involved these days (in real terms), to see how Intellectual Property protection of practices, strategy and the like evolves in AFL. It appears rather loose at the moment from what a pleb like me can see, and coming from the Franchising Sector where it is all about IP and heavily contracted, I can see something happening in the future perhaps.

I'm not really sure why everyone seems to be up in arms about it to be honest. Maybe it's the timing? Perhaps it's because it's Essendon?

In all seriousness, Blake was an Essendon player and he was never going to to stick around with being just an assistant. We got what we needed from him and now we can get someone else to inject fresh ideas into club.

I have no issue what so ever of seeing Blake leave. You never stay at the top doing the same things over and over you always have to evolve and move forward. Essendon will get benefits from Blake no doubt but they cant copy what we have done as it will be 3 years old and the game is played differently with each season.

,

Yeah...
All the best for taking a bigger pay offer while still on a contract with us and with still a year of your original contract to go!
All the best for holding the Club to ransom and for asking for more money in the middle of the Club re-signing players!
All the best cos your timing is impeccable!!! Right in the middle of our soon to come Finals campaign!
All the best cos it's a good look with your timing/leaving and still hanging around the Club as we fight for another Flag!
All the best for the distracting media hype your leaving has brought about...
All the best with your new job coaching! Oh not the coaching job?!?!? Still an assistant?!? well thank you for that too!
All the best for any possible poaching of talent!
Salty?!? Feck yeah! but thank your mother for the chickens!
It's not about the What! But the How!
Big Part of our current succss?!? Hard to see now with the questionable way you have gone about dealing with your own self interests and future.
Success needs team work your leaving demonstrates your disdain for team values...our Team values, harmony!
Good luck with your future Team values! You walk alone...
Hahaha and you told me to take a chill pill this morning regarding Casino Jackson. Get over it , it’s happened.
I know replacing a multiple premiership coach will be difficult, but we’ve been in the best position for years now.

I don't have problem with us going after Brendon Bolton don't judge him completely off what he did at Carlton he was taking all the hits he was coaching for the future not the now like Teague is because he has to show what he has got.. maybe the top job was too much for him a bit like Leppitsch at the Lions but doesn't mean he won't be a huge asset for some of our players coaching wise. look at his resume as a whole what he did coaching in Tasmania & with the Hawks.

Everytime Dan R speaks you can just sense that he doesn't have 'it'.....that intangible quality that oozes out of people like Balmey, that can unite a footy club and pull everyone into line and push in the right direction. Dan R suits essendon very very well.
Exactly which is why Richmond hired Balme.

Once Balme joined us, we didn't need Dan. And, yes he is perfect for Essendon lol The other clubs will never be like us.

Oh i did'nt parade a dead stinking cat of character assassination around in a bumped thread for all to read and see.....
I'm making a clear distinction between the what and how with BC...that is what is important to me! And i do think it is important!
This could all have been handled a lot differently to suit both Parties involved! It wasn't! And i reckon it diminishes BC in my and others eyes!
We gave BC an oppo at our Club I would like to think/hope that he respected that oppo and our club to have left in a more discrete manner...
If all this was revealed at the end of the year I would have said good luck to him...
BC is from all reports a good assist coach love his work at TigerLand! I don't hate BC like others hate FJ...I'm pissed off with the way he has left the club!
I would expect more discernment from such a highly regarded person...

OR.......

As soon as it was a done deal, there has been transparency. Thus saving you from the angst of shouting from atop the Jack Dyer Stand after the finals week, "Hell this wasn't just decided yesterday, how about some transparency, it's the least the fans deserve, especially when we played a final against Essendon (in shouty man voice).... etc".

Brendan Gale and the Board have proven beyond reasonable doubt that they are more than capable of fair and sound due diligence on governance and football management. Would I like it to have been different - probably.

But Brendan and Peggy know Blake way better than anyone here (unless his mum or dad post on here perhaps), so why don't we cool our jets (do you have meme thing for that?), let this week's game play out, and see if this has had any visible repercussions first. (Edited for LaughingJak)

I was all for Bolton but After thinking about it a little more and after a few points Kiwi tiger made I don’t think he fills the need that Caracella leaves

Bolton I see more as a mentor and development being one of his biggest strengths where what we need is a strategist of the established coach’s currently out of a job I would have Richo from the saints or Brendon McCartney who has just left Melbourne at the top of the list

Neither did I. We were all commenting on his failures. BC will have a place higher in my hearts than Casino ever will. You can’t change what’s happened and unless you’ve read BC contract with us you’re just blowing smoke out of all your orifices. How do you know it wasn’t handled properly? Some of your comments regarding the whole process leave a lot to be desired considering you have absolutely no idea what discussion took place between both parties. People can say we behaved unprofessionally with Lynch as it was out almost a year earlier he was coming to Richmond. Whether it did or didn’t I wasn’t in the room, so I would be stupid to comment on it.
It’s happened and as much as I’m upset about it I’m seeing the positive side of it. That being we now can employ a new assistant one year earlier. Move on and stop with the childish nonsense as it’s big boy month. 😉

I've had my say...Seems like you have some sort of convoluted and highlighted retort to my post!...I really do need subtitles to understand it...
Oh and as for Brendan and the Board and Peggy in regards to BC...they will do what they have to do without my or your opinion counting...
It's been a day since BC decided to leave...I think it's reasonable to have an opinion...

Or, it could also be considered premature. A lot of people jumping shadows - you are not alone my friend. So you don'y have one of those meme thingos for Cooled Jets. Pity :D

Look have your last say on the matter cos i have already had my say in regards to your bumping of an old post...it's there for all to read..
I'm not interested in being provoked with your reply post in regards to how you percieve my so called attitude...that's for you to deal with...I cannot help the way you see things...

Ambition is generally the key driver for assistants pretty easy to read his recent pattern and timing coming to Richmond following 2016 and now ess where their performances have been flaky at best
He still has never coached his own side and that’s likely why he hasn’t been at pointy end of discussion for available jobs that have spilt this year
If he’s being lined up for senior gig it would be dans gut feel, yea same bloke that didn’t see through yazza whilst we heavily courted him , quite brilliant that was
Totally agree.
Maybe Wosha has told the bombers next year will be his last hence the 🥕 dangled Infront of BC.Might find out more after their season ends.

From my understanding its a fait accompli...BC is leaving at the end of the year with a year of his contract to go...I should stay silent on how BC has choosen to leave my Club?!?!

Got some inside news this morning from a reliable client that Blake could be coaching Essendon next year as Woosha’s wife has put the pedal down.
They’re negotiating an escape clause payment as we speak and he will only stay if parties can’t reach an amicable monetary agreement.
I can second that have heard very similar, Blake has been on bombers radar for 3 months now

No. I would consider it premature to have a diminished opinion of Blake after all he has achieved here. It's still entirely possible he has acted with great integrity in face of real opportunity.

Na he a scrub... and we don’t want no scubs ;)

That doesn’t make any sense, but you’ve avoided my post regarding your knowledge of the how the conversations went in the room. Stop sulking and looking for false loves and likes as all we know the parties came to an amicable agreement. Anything else is just conjured up emotional bs.
Show me his contract and we could add to the discussion otherwise stop the nonsense and look at the positives.

he's a loss. no point in disguising it. richo was with us mainly for recruiting whereas balmey's role is far more extensive. richo was no great loss.

yeah, not a fan. on caracella, i wonder why he so often gets passed over for a head coach job. has an impressive coaching c.v

Wasn’t interested at the time by all accounts
