Autopsy Autopsy vs GWS - like one of those trains in the subcontinent, far too many passengers

Felt like GWS didn't have an answer for McKercher and we didn't realise this. When he gets the ball I want our forwards absolutely sprinting to get a receive and our midfield spreading. By giving him space it opens up the corridor.

That goal on the run is just... what a star already.
When they are 'on' offensively, McKercher and LDU are the only midfielders the opposition worry about. Hell, apart from maybe Larkey, they might be the only 3 guys that teams put any work into full stop.

The comms rage about the ruck contests -- how about focussing on HTB? Fork me; that 10 min patch where we actually layed tackles in our fwd 50 and GWS got away with 4 or 5 HTB's in a row...it's hard enough watching North without getting the ump inconsistency rubbed in our faces. Level the playing field, AFL, you pack of iceholes.
Sheezel tackles GWS bloke who drops the ball; Sheezel picks it up & is pinged HTB. The same ump, seconds apart.

Watch the media focus on the North superstar being umpired out of the game.

Second time we get a young player concussed out of the game early by an elbow to the jaw, you just know there will be no repercussion's, i would actually be gobsmacked if the incident is cited, before declaring it a football accident and totally ignored.

The uncontested mark's we allow are criminal.
An elbow to the jaw is a traditional footy act. It should not even be a free kick, unless it's done by a North player who's showing insufficient prudence and would deservedly be suspended for 3 weeks.

Did anyone else noticed how Xerri really struggled after he got a hit to his head early in the game. Commentators said he got something in his eye and l know he's coming back for a 3 week lay off but it looked like he had a slight concussion. He struggled to get off the ground on some occassions when he got knocked over..
Dermot the eagle eye suggested it might have been a blade of grass. Perhaps though, it was a smack on the nut

GWS picked up Callaghan and Cadman in the 21 and 22 drafts. Awkward.
Yup. And both should probably be in north jumpers, especially Callaghan.

Shame we didn’t engineer a deal to give up pick 1 for 2 and change instead of taking JHF.

I love Sheez, but I don’t believe we would’ve taken Harry if we just had pick 1 the following year, but others dispute that.

Pretty excited by George’s game today though.

Allow me to rephrase if you will.

Relative to the sides above us, there is no improvement.

We are in no way competitive with any side in or around the eight. The Brisbane game an absolute anomaly.

Eight wins was my mark of success this year (how shit is that) after two years of complete and utter failure.

We sit at 4.5. Maybe 5.5 to end the year.

Our defence is like a sieve. Our ball movement is generated by individual brilliancy rather that system.

And Griffin Lounge is playing every week.

Club is cooked and I’m so invested I can’t give it up.

Freo are in the 8 and we were more than competitive

Had a kick after the siren to be infront of Collingwood at 3 qrt time. That’s competitive.

Competitive against the dogs X 2

Larkey kicked a goal at the 20 min mark of the third qrt for an 8 point lead against the suns. Obviously we were competitive to that point. Granted, like the Collingwood game we collapsed after that

It helps that I am not super invested in games against the newer teams - the wins haven’t mean as much and the losses don’t hurt as much - but I thought today was kind of ok. Given the decimation of the forward line it was good to see the group that was out there kick a decent score, against very good opposition. McKercher and FOS keep getting better, Sheez had another decent game, George was better for the run last week, and Parker and Darling were influential. Xerri a bit rusty but it’s good to have him back. Defence - not just the back six - was sketchy again, but from what I saw a lot of was down to the opposition playing very well rather than us handing it to them time and again. Bit of recency bias, probably, because until they got a few at the end I thought North had steadied pretty well. Onto next week.

IMAGINE if we’d skipped JHF and taken Callaghan that year.

Forgot the Freo game.

We lost by eight goals against Collingwood.

Dogs ran over us the most recent time we lost by eight goals. Round 1 was barely acceptable.

Club is a shambles.
