Even if it was closer, after the 7 ball over, the scorchers would get the benefit of any doubt.

Scorchers batsman would of known it was the 7th ball and probably didn’t tell so they could grab an extra run or better if they hit a boundary. It was their advantage until they got out due to it.

Nobody at the ground around me realised it was the 7th ball because the scoreboard was that screwed up. Only sort itself out by about the end of the next over.

I wonder if the umpires were relying on it too?
