can we win without mcVeigh

Yeah, I reckon it's between Bird, Jack and Smith to replace Kirk and Bolton as the hearts of the club.

Though it did go:

- Kelly
- Kirk, Bolton
- Keiran, Bird, Smith?

I would like to see Moore spend more(pardon the pun) in the midfield as he has done well when placed there the last fortnight. He is strong and ferocious and uses the ball well.Hopefully Ves can occupy the death seat for a while as Moore has done.It is a very frustrating position to play but a good place to cut your teeth.
Bird needs to spend alot of time in the gym if he is going to get in and under as he seems to be easily injured when tackled hard.I like Smith on the flank.Jack will do very well in the midfield as well but can we afford to release him from his tagging roles at which he is fantastic.I think Jack has the ability to become a more effective player than Kirk.

We sure can. Hopefully Jack or B1 can nullify Ablett, but they will need help from whoever is playing on Bartel (Mattner ? ) as he is brilliant at providing blocks / shepherds on Abletts man around the contest.

You still think he's a McHack don't you?

He is a gun. Is he our most flamboyant mid no, but he is our cleanest mid especially in close and can thread his kicks to teamates, with a long and short passing game. Any club would take him in a heartbeat, those who say otherwise should wear a hat in the sun.

Agreed! He's a consistently great player, even in tough times. Any club would love to have him.

We have to don't we.Mcveigh covers so much ground and is quick, definately our best midfielder when on song. The others will have to step up and cover his loss.We have to go in with the belief we can win this week as we should every week.

Agreed not to mention he can take an opposition player out of the game whilst doing all of this :thumbsu: (But I may overly love him he is my favourite player...)

We managed to be within 5 points of the Cats, if Macca was playing, we may have won.

Don't ever use injuries as an excuse... Unfortunetley Geelong were missing allot of very important players from there side as well (Think Ottens, Milburn, Wojcinski and Kelly)

Whilst we were missing players as well... You can never ever use injuries as an excuse

i love this thread, because 2 years ago McV had more critics than supporters, and only a few were singing his praises. now most consider him a gun and agree he is one of our best. he's a great player and i for one, am glad he has stood tall and made his mark. rock on McV, rock on son... :thumbsu:
