I think Treloar is probably more struggling playing an uncertain role that he's not used to. He's gone from the #1 guy at Collingwood to about #5 for us. He was in decent form earlier this year on the wing but Hunter has moved back there and been outstanding. We've also played teams with a dominant wing lately, which has meant Roarke has played as a defensive wing, and Treloar wouldn't be able to do that.

I suspect if Bont plays its a bit more 50/50 forward, and Treloar gets a chunk of midfield minutes.

Roarke stays in for mine reckon he runs harder defensively then anyone and just does little things that are good, and plus he loves playing port in Adelaide
Roarke has to get his boot to the ball quicker, he has been caught holding the ball a few times lately

Short memories on here, Treloar was fantastic for us early season, just average since his return, strong second half last week against Essendon. First bad game for the club. Stuck forward all night without a run in the middle or wing. Have faith, he will bounce back.

Greetings fellow dogs, a rather happy bulldog in Adelaide looking forward to beating Port. Looking to take a friend to the game and wondering if anyone who can’t make it would be willing to share their barcode so I can buy tickets tomorrow? FYI it’s only 1 ticket per membership this week 😥 Pm me if so.
In any case we can absolutely beat Port this weekend, we match them well and if we can get it together for for quarters we can knock Em off!

Just had a browse of the Port board to get a sense of the vibe. They are absolutely shitting themselves over the idea of having to play us. It's pretty funny. They've got a fully healthy list with two weeks rest and a home ground advantage and they are terrified of the mighty Dogs coming to ruin their party.
Holy shit their preview thread is bad! lol. A sprinkling of sensible posts but mostly wishing for injuries and already looking for umpiring excuses.

It would come down to the club doctors official statement to the AFL. If he/she says Weightman was subbed off due to concern of a facial injury he should be ok to play. If the doc states concern for concussion he is out. The wording on that official statement is key.

I guess we will find out soon enough

He def didn't look concussed on the boundary cheering the boys on

Assuming Bont is fit I see this game either being close contest with the dogs a good chance on recent showings against Port. Remember it was not that long ago when Port were not being highly rated. There is also the possibility the tough game against the lions, all the travel and no Bruce and Weightman that we have mentality and physically run our race and we get thrashed.

Not sure how it will go but Bevo is good at getting his players up for big games just weird at the selection table. Assuming we are up for the challenge. The keys are Dunkley to take Wines and keep him to an average game and our midfield go to work. I think English has got to play the majority of the game in the ruck and there is no role for Young with Schache becoming the second ruck option. Cordy comes in to play defensive forward against Alir, do not care if he hardly gets a kick he just keeps him very quiet and away from intercepting.

Do the above well and we will be on our way to a GF and that is not Get F'ed.

Is there even any point in commenting that I agree with everything you said? At the end of the day, what you and I think means zero.

I must say, if Cordy comes in for Young, and I knew Cordy was going to play as a defensive forward, with Schache providing back up in the ruck, I'd feel a lot more confident.

So is georgiades the only one from their best 22 who might miss?
Port have had the luxury of continuing to play in the SANFL. Georgiades played on the weekend v Glenelg - and so did Hartlett. I think the only doubt may be Fantasia - who is expected to play. They may need to choose between Marshall and Georgiades or go with 4 talls in their forward line + Lycett

Georgiades any day of the week. Will be a gun.

Going with a tall forward line would be a clever move from them. Keath can be very effective against Dixon and Gardner is a decent second tall, but if they can run three or four talls, we could be outmarked.
They seemed better with the 3 talls v Geelong. If they go 4 talls who do they leave out from the QF - if Fantasia is fit? Bergman or Bonner maybe.

Commentators go on about the two week break for the QF winners, but it can be a curse (**cough** us in 97 and 98) so anywhere, anytime from here on.

If Cody is out, bring Mitch Wallis in and plant him inside forward 50. Otherwise, no change.

I assume we'll get Bont up and he'll spend a little more time forward. Treloar and Baz may take a few extra centre square rotations.
Having that exra marking forward makes it easier to avoid Aliir

More time for Dunks in the guts too - he’s lost elsewhere

Our team on the weekend was pretty versatile in being able to cover that kind of scenario.

Keath' and Gardner for genuine talls and Wood, Williams and Dale for 3rdtall/hybrid types is a pretty balanced starting point

If we are getting outnarked, Young, the Schachle and even Naughton are all options to adjust with

Thanks. Would be great if Fantasia missed. Their small forwards are what have me worried most of all.
