For those calling to drop ALL of Laird, Smith, Talia, Both Crouches, Tex, Lynch etc etc - This is just ridiculous. I'm sorry but it is.

A) you'll completely push those players to want to leave the club at the end of the year.
B) they deserve better as great servants of our club.
C) we will lose by 150+ points to the Lions if we only play kids
D) feed the AFL media with exactly what they want, the image the club is continuing to fall apart.

Let's just remember... We are rebuilding! - There will be several veteran players that are kept around to both add experience on the field and also to help mentor the younger players and frankly get them through the next couple of years where in all likelihood we will get rinsed week in week out.

I'm all for bringing kids in, but you can also burn kids by bringing them in too early and not having adequate support around them.

Be patient guys. Or don't and be quiet.

Heads should roll this week yes, and me personally I would drop: Atkins(inj), Bcrouch, Lynch and Murphy,

Bring in : Sholl, Poholke, McAdam + Himmelberg.

This would send a message to the full list that no one is undroppable as Bcrouch and Lynch especially have been best 22 forever, whilst not scorning more players throughout our list. Now is the time to be strong and rebuild, not further feed the media.

22 against the lions (shuffle positions as you see fit)

FB: Brown, Talia, McAsey
HB: Smith, Doedee, Seedsman
C: Hamill , Sloane, McHenry
HF: McAdam, Fogarty, Keays
FF: Himmelberg, Tex, Crocker

FOLL: ROB , MCrouch, Jones

INT: Poholke, Sholl, Laird, Kelly

This isn't a thick little nugget?

You might say that about Neddy currently but in reference to Chayce Jones that is just plain wrong, he's very solidly built whatever way you try to spin it.

No way, the camera doesn't lie, photos can.

If you're trying to tell me Chayce is the same size as Rowell you're smoking crack.

A) good, outside of Talia, they're all just coasting from paycheck to paycheck. Have been for about a year now. Most of them aren't a loss anymore.

B) They're not. The fact we are here indicates that. Regardless, great servants is just meaningless dross. What matters is the now, and tomorrow. Not yesterday.

C) We're going to lose by 150 points if we kept the seniors in. Have you seen how diabolically bad they are? There is at least some fight in the youngsters. There is none in that list you gave outside of Tals.

D) Who cares? We aren't falling apart. We have fallen apart. That occurred the middle of last year and until Roo and Chapman are gone, it'll most likely remain broken.

You need veteran players for a rebuild, however, not any veteran player will do. You need to have ones who have high standards and are driven to push the younger kids. Once, a lot of these players may have been able to offer that, but the last 2-3 years have done some irreparable damage to them, to the point they can't even do the basics rights.

There is no way back for this senior group, and outside of 2-3 players (Talia, Kelly is my current list of must keep seniors), if this is the group shielding a rebuild, it's doomed to fail.

Sounds like Himmelberg is definitely coming in this week, Nicks singled him out in his MMM interview last night

Harris Andrews first up. I hope we don't expect a massive game from him.

Chayce size is very deceiving. He's an absolute unit. Shrugged off quite a few tackles on the weekend (especially that play in the second quarter), so he's not only at the point he can physically compete, but its something in his toolbelt.

They'll both be fine, 179 cm / 180 cm isn't at the point you are crippled by a lack of height either. It's not a Caleb Daniel situation where they're <170 cm.

Eh, I'd have Sloane as elite. Had trouble with the tag, but spent ages in the player rankings top 10 midfielders.

Still, it's a bit up in the air. There is enough there for both to push that far, but whether they do or not is another thing entirely.

I'm not sure which one:

Either 24 + >70 in 2019 for 28 + 24 (2019)
or 4 for 9 + 26.

Both weren't anywhere near fails. One we absolutely killed (the top one) and the other ended up as a fair deal. Arguably it ending up a fair deal was the fail, but that's not on our recruiting team, more every other part of our club and Carltons dead cat bounce.

McHenry is very Cameron like in that regards. Hits with a level of aggression and desperation few will get away from.
It's great to see that Chayce is working on his body, but my point is that at his size he needs to even stronger than you'd normally expect because he's essentially competing with players in a seperate weight class.

And as I said previously, this is not impossible, but he is starting from a fair way back and relies on a lot of things falling into place for him to actually be an elite midfielder.

I haven't written him off and am absolutely hoping he can do it, but I think we've made it hard for ourselves.

Nicks definitely isn’t putting that on the younger players, he is absolutely backing them in for the long stretch. Under most of our recent coaches players like McAsey and Jones would’ve already been dropped. Everything he is saying is putting it on the senior players.

Coming back from Covid lay off under done......red flag
No one has ever said that except for rumours on here. Nicks says he is in brilliant form and is extremely happy with his scratch match form the last 2 weeks. He singled him out specifically in an interview, no one asked him about Berg. The only person who knows how he is really going is Nicks given that the public can’t watch scratch matches.

Football isn't combat sports. How hard you go in and a genuine desire is much more important than size. Not only that, but speed and skills are just as vital to the equation of how to become an elite midfielder. Speed also helps with hits as a higher top speed does mean more force in a tackle or ground ball get.

He'll be fine in that regard, he's already strong enough that he's breaking tackles. Whether he makes it to an elite midfielder is just down to his tools blossoming. He has a very good combination of strength and speed, which does make it likely that if he can click with producing in the midfield, he'll blossom into an elite player. After all, there are tools there.

If we were trying to turn a <173 cm kid into a midfielder, I'd agree. 179-180 cm and really, it's probably just overvaluing the size aspect as there are only a handful of 190cm+ midfielders in the league (and it probably won't become the thing just due to speed being absolutely vital). The game is littered with elite midfielders at this range. Not to say size is important, it's certainly another way for a player to become elite, however, at this point, it's probably just splitting hairs.

Good. We desperately need a 2nd ruck, and I have a lot of time for Himmelberg.

I would be comfortable if we gave him half a season to make the spot his own.

Playing Himmelberg means dropping one of Tex or Lynch. Wonder if we have the guts

Surely we've hit the end with Tex now. The only worth he has in this side is just being a ruck chop out and that's saying something seeing how bad he is.

It would also be a statement dropping.

The only conceivable year he could’ve been traded was the end of last season.
Perhaps, I would have been more aggressive myself.
