Mcleod played in 3 grand finals. 2x day & 1 night

best on ground in all 3. Now, that’s a big game player
McLeod, sublime skills, such a smooth mover.
I used to barrack for West Adelaide (still do) but way back the player who reminded me most of McLeod is Blighty.
Blight maybe more mercurial and McLeod smoother/understated. McLeod always seemed to have a lot of time with fluid evasion skills, like Barrie Robran.
*sigh*

Theo saying Walker and McAdam are fine, but Smith and Kelly didn't train and need fitness tests. If they need a fitness test in April I'd say they're both out.

Out: Kelly, Smith
In: Worrell, Murray

Bring Hamill up to the more attacking half back/wing role that Smith plays. Worrell goes back in the Hamill defender role, Murray takes Kelly's lockdown role and his height also covers their talls.
Losing Smith would be massive

It isn't

Himmelberg has out-rated Frampton in our last two matches, as has our unused sub.

Frampton would improve his rating if he didn't turn up to the games at all
Have we ever had a player before score negative ranking points in consecutive games?

If Frampton remains in the team after this feat, it's on the selectors.

I don't believe the Berg has had a negative ranking game... let alone 2 in a row.

My team would look something like...

Ins: Worrell, Murray, Hately, Himmelberg
Outs: Kelly (inj), Lynch (inj), Smith inj), Frampton

B: McPherson, Butts, Doedee
HB: Worrell, Murray, Hamill
C: Seedsman, Keays, Sholl
HF: Berry, Walker, Fogarty
F: Rowe, Himmelberg, McAdam
R: O'Brien, Schoenberg, Laird
I: Brown, Hately, McHenry, Murphy

If Smith comes up OK, then we look to manage another player.

That gets really ugly in the midfield. We're already 1 short when it comes to the midfield/running types (due to Sloane being replaced by Fogarty).

You have us going another runner down, with Smith and Lynch being replaced only by Hately.

Hately coming strengthens our midfield.

Obviously if Smith is fit, he stays in.

Then there was the 1998 prelim where he went next level. IIRC he first hurt his knee in that game.

I was about to say he was probably BOG in both those prelims too.

I enjoy the comedy relief... Have Cornes or Rucci ever scrutinised the bloke or is that only reserved for when Tex has a poor game?
Not sure if there was much scrutiny when Watts had a hit and run and then suddenly retired either. Still, Stengle and Brouch being given a police caution is a hanging offence . . .

Was good times watching McLeod carve up the opposition for 15 years.

And here I was thinking Andrew McLeod was close to best on in our 2003 Pre-season Premiership win and certainly featured prominently in the whole series?

I must have been mistaken I guess.

But no on checking I wasn't...He actually won the Michael Tuck Medal for the M.V.P. of the 2003 Pre-season series..

The Colonel Sanders is usually pretty well up on these kind of things?

He must have got lucky and kept getting lucky all preseason that year..what an outlier:spades:

Yeah I dunno where Muzza got the idea that good players especially Andrew McLeod don't perform in pre-season games, we've actually had 3 Michael Tuck Medalists Bunji, Goody and Bernie Vince.

Most really good players take great pride in their performance be it pre-season or State of Origin or the regular season.

Its more the intensity is not quite at tge same level in preseason and coaches tend to experiment. But players are professional.and have personal pride too

Goody was an all-Australian and won our B&F the same year he won the Michael Tuck medal. Sounds like he ran the year out ok.

Imagine if we still had Greenwood. Exactly who we need to replace Frampton. Could relief ruck, assist in midfield and take some contested marks up forward.
And the result 1 less young player gets opportunities in a rebuild being kept out by a 29 year old..

Basically done a 3 way swap with GC & Lions with Keays, Greewood & Lyons.... though we have basically given 3 away but landed Keays.

Out of Greenwood and Keath it's Greenwood that would have been more beneficial to hang onto. Keath hasn't really showed that much at the Dogs.

I'm not saying it would be good in the long run Bicks. But in his current form you would love to him in the team.

I swear you never used to be this contrary all the time.
