So the players not in consideration are O'Connor, Strachan, McAsey, Borlase, Newchurch, Cook and Davis

Those in consideration are Worrell, Fogarty, Frampton and Jones
You'd hope/think Billy isn't in contention and I reckon that also means Brown is still on the sidelines.

Brown apparently should be OK.

Lynch now likely needs surgery. Stupid decision to keep playing him injured as now he will be out for longer... & some on here laughed at me when I said he was hobbling a month ago.

You would think we would learn... & even worse to play injured players in a rebuild year. Just plain dumb!

I pointed this out elsewhere, why not again?
Last week, Brisbane alternated their talls, Daniher and Hipwood, on Allir, and it worked a treat. Did you see the result of the game?
Yes, I believe we should alternate Himmelberg and TT on him: we need height. Tex on him would be a complete disaster.
Whether we would be bright enough to do this, however, is another matter. Also, there would probably be a great deal of hilarity as Allir tries to stand Tex, while our tall tries to stand him.

Alternatively, Tex could drag Allir to the goalsquare in an attempt to neutralise his run.
I'd start Murray on him, first mark Allir goes for he gets a nice ear massage.
Murray has a bit of that old school go about him and flies at the contest.

I honestly couldn't tell the difference, he always looks like running is a strain for him.

Thought it was obvious & watched him carefully when I 1st spotted it.

My money is on the only unforced changes being outs for injury returns. Sloane a given, Hamill unlikely and Brown I reckon they'll risk even if not right.

Match fit players don't need surgery. I'm pretty sure you've gotten your facts wrong

I mean it's a good thing they've gone that way, isn't going to be in the mix for s while.
Gives us great opportunity to play Tex, Fog & RT together for a block of games...

These are the kinds of philosophies that I think are terminal. Would prefer continuity and a hobbling senior player for experience ahead of playing a kid, even in a rebuild year.

Not sure how true it is, but a mate told me this afternoon that Russell Ebert has been sent home from hospital and has only days left.
Hope it isn't true. Not only is he one of the all time great players, he's also one of the great humans. Just an incredible person.

What was it he’s suffering from again?

Defenders choose who they go to, not the other way around. Unless you're referring to a tagging role. If Port don't want Allir deep in the goal square they'll just swap him out with someone they're happy with down there.

Very sad if true.

I’m old enough to remember the titanic battles between him and Barrie Robran in the 60’s and 70’s

Always respected him

Yep totally with you on that I grew up at Sturt Football Club and so my hatred for Port was part of my life, however I always admired the skill of Russell Ebert - later in life I have worked with him through the Port links with Aboriginal kids, total gentlemen and great guy, I wish him well.
