Danger game for us. Coming off bye, in the wet, playing tigers who are by no means a pushover.

Contrary to what the enemy in the camp says lol 😉🤪
If we can't beat them at home when they have played in Sydney, travelled across and had a short break then we don't deserve to make the 8. These are the games we must set ourselves to win.

We never seem to play well out of the bye. Add to that no Darcy or JOM (or walters potentially) + a rainy game and I'm not too confident.
Actually we are top 4 after recent byes:

"In fact, just four clubs hold a winning record over that period in their first match after the break, with Fremantle, Hawthorn, Richmond and St Kilda all sporting a 6-4 win-loss mark since 2013."

so we are due :disrelieved:

If Walters is fit then he comes in for JOM.

Reidy or Kuek for Darcy. Not sure who. How much can be gleaned from the Subi game?

Subi game was pretty poor from both. But in shocking conditions. If we want a Jackson/Treacy ruck then Kuek comes in especially if dry. Otherwise Jackson/Reidy and Treacy stays between midfield and goalsquare.

my vote is for Ras in the wet. Kid’s a bull with a massive tank. Brodie has the tank of a Hyundai Getz.
If Brodie is Korean, we should be able to place him on the Cat B rookie list and grab another kid in the draft this year...

Walters a test for Saturday.
If he is in I think he is the nominal replacement for Omeara with Erasmus becoming the sub. If Walters doesn’t get up then Erasmus to take Omeara’s spot, Sturt to sub again.
I would prefer Kuek over Reidy.
Reidy plays like a poor man’s Darcy and won’t offer much around the ground. Struggled against Zac Clark on Sunday. Kicked a nice set shot goal though.
Kuek had some horror moments when ground conditions were at their worst on Sunday but was a good contributor to ball movement when playing ruck in the last quarter. Looks a smart footballer who would give us additional tall and mobile presence in the forward zone.

I am sure everyone rucking against Kuek will be ensuring they only ever contest the ball and don't seek to make unnecessary contact and we shouldn't at all worry about the fact he weighs 82 kilos dripping wet while one of Richmond's ruckmen weighs 110 kegs and the other a mere 102.

That 20/28 kilo weight difference would just be piss and wind. He'll be right.

Has the tank of a Getz and can’t defend. No thanks.

Erasmus tackles likes a beast and runs both ways.
Not football related, but I think people are underestimating the Getz. I can drive from here to Denmark, sitting on 115 kph ( except on those passing lanes where you have to be doing 130- 140 to get past the imbeciles on the outside lane who like to speed up for some reason), and do it without having to fill up.

Sounds like you're thinking more of a Tesla with all those stops.

I haven't driven a Hyundai that small that had cruise control through. If I'm going to travel down south in a lesser comfort vehicle with throttle control required I'd rather ride my old motorbike.

Yeah well when I drive I like to drive, which is why I have a manual and no cruise control. I'm not allowed to have a bigger faster car.

Interesting, none of those games stick out to me whatsoever.

I drove from Cambridge to Winchester and back without having to recharge yesterday. That's about a 400km round trip, so same as Perth to Denmark.

I doubt they’ll bring another tall in.
Fyfe will play midfield & he & Treacy can tag in the forward half.
It will be Walters plus whoever of Brody & Ras they think can give us more with the other as sub.

Very very slim chance of a Worner debut playing winger with Aish & Johnson taking more center squares & less wing time but Freddy will probably come up the ground more with Walters back in. Shultz, Banners & Switta all been getting it done at ground level up front.

Henry & Sturt faintest of outside chances for sub. Henry probably gets another look at some stage. Hopefully Sturt too. They’re both improving.

Last year was the only time we didn’t win after the bye under JL. We did in 2020 and 2021.
Can't really count 2020 they were cramming rounds in 4 days. And starting the next one a day later.

Our bye that season was a 8 day turnaround between round 9 and 11.

Sunday night against Collingwood.

Following Monday against Hawthorn.
