Came to say the same regarding Gibcus, the wet conditions may negate any big advantage for Freo unfortunately for us.

Good chance it may suit Richmond more given you've been back to a more chaotic game plan.
Fyfe may be helpful for us though, so may need him in the middle.

Given it's likely to be wet, it would make sense to go a bit smaller. With Darcy out and both Jacko and Treacy sharing ruck, we need another forward so I would bring Sturt into the starting lineup. With JOM out, Erasmus for me in the wet. Sub should also be a small - if not Walters then Brodie.

Suits us to a degree. Riewoldt, despite his five goals yesterday, is cooked as a Christmas turkey.
We don't exactly have a plethora of small forwards either.
We have been playing a high handball game which won't suit the wet, although McQualter tended to abandon that yesterday to reasonable results.
Either way, Freo will be too strong. If we pinch this, I would be shocked rather than surprised.

If Vlastuin has recovered from his corky, he'll likely replace Grimes.

The defence would look something like
Balta > your number 1 KPF
Young > second best/ or tallest KPF
Broad > 3rd best KPF

Vlastuin > next in line / floating intercepting defender

Our defence has actually been pretty good this year, it won't be where we lose the game.

It's the connection going inside 50 where we've struggled. Freo have a pretty ace midfield too if most of them are there, so we'll likely be beaten in the centre.

Yeah, the best we have seen since Pavlich but it has taken the club a long time to be serious about drafting a key position forward.

Having no Tabs or Lobb in the team will help us in the wet. Both were consistently terrible when it rained. If its definite rain the Will Brodie should be the O'Meara replacement in my view.
