Not many watch Peel. Easy to disappointed when Erasmus looks good at AFL level. So many posters have their opinions stuck in time - things change, people change. Henry is not the same person he was 2 months ago, he's earned a recall, let's wait and see what he's learned.
Banners and Hughes proved everyone wrong.
I don’t see why notHas never shown anything at AFL level is that really going to change now?
It's not hard to say sorryWell this is interesting. I've gone early on shitcanning all of JL, Banfield and Hughes so I will reserve judgement on this one.

I'm not the only oneIt's not hard to say sorry![]()
No different to everyone saying Treacy wasnt any good, look what happens when they are given an opportunity. An interesting call - I think a fit Brodie probably plays, but you could make a pretty well-justified argument for any one of him, Henry, Ras, Worner or even a left-field call like Emmett. Also makes me think we're going to roll Aish back into the centre bounces to provide a more mature/defensive body.
For all people have formed pretty iron-clad opinions re Liam, he's literally gone back to Peel and produced some excellent footy over the past couple of months - exactly what people were screaming out for him to do.
If you're judging solely on AFL performances this year, Sturt's spot is much more questionable than Henry's - except he's got the advantage of being everyone's preferred golden boy. But I reckon a full game will do him good too.
Fine with Sonny as sub - worked perfectly earlier in the year, and he's the ideal option as an impact player if/when conditions dictate.
I was hoping as well, but now am wondering if it's worth bothering going on Saturday night to get wetI was hoping Reidy coming in on a debut game as a back up ruckman.
But Henry is coming in.
I watched the Peel game, and all I saw was Henry dancing a lot, and still not getting involved to make a decisionI think the Henry selection is a bit of a risk. Erasmus or Brodie (if fit) would have been the safer option in midfield.
But we get to see what Henry can bring to a team that’s firing far better than last time we saw him, and also how MJ goes in a more inside role.
I usually agree with you, but not this time lol WAFL is a much slower game, and even then I saw a Henry that wouldn't take the game on. Maybe it will increase his trade value.
- Henry has been in decent form for Peel,
- More time & CBA for Johnson, RS nom incoming,
- Good selection dilemma to have = playing depth,
- Selection panel knows more than me so will back their judgement.
Henry was already threatening to ask for a trade when Colin Young came out, on his behalf, and complained about him not getting enough game time - then earn it! Would much prefer to keep Erasmus. I used to love Henry, but he hasn't 'grown' like our other young players, which might be difficult when you have Young contaminating your mind (and heart).Hard to see how Erasmus gets a game anytime soon if they aren’t prepared to play him forward (or wing) for periods. Was ‘managed’ weeks ago and hasn’t had a look in since.
Our young midfield brigade of Brayshaw & Serong won’t be coming out of the team anytime soon. Johnson looks like he could be anything so you want him to stay in as well. You’ve got Fyfe who will want/get midfield minutes. Ditto Jackson. and JOM who will be back next week as wel. Plus Brodie to content with as well, who deserves a game.
Good problem to have but you don’t want to look back in 5 years time when Fyfe & JOM have retired and Erasmus is killing it at another club. Could be Elliot Yeo all over again, in that he was desperate to come (stay in this instance) but we said no because we were stacked in that position.
Really need to put time into the our young WA talent especially. I very much doubt Brayshaw and Serong will leave Freo but we need to be prepared in the event that they do. Putting game time into Erasmus (& Johnson for that matter) solves for this.
I personally think he’ll ask for a trade if he’s left playing at WAFL for the season. I get that he’s contracted but if you ain’t going to play the kid then you should let him go for opportunity. These are formative years. WCE would be thrilled to have him.
Keen to hear your thoughts

Liam has developed well over the past four/five weeks or so at Peel with running patterns/goal kicking etc and suggest he has now got his confidence back upHenry was already threatening to ask for a trade when Colin Young came out, on his behalf, and complained about him not getting enough game time - then earn it! With the greatest of respect, this is an utterly ridiculous take.
People are talking about a 21-year-old Liam Henry like he's a 30-year-old Nick Suban. It's nuts.
