Pickett would've kicked 6 on Wilson.

Small forwards were our achilles heel for years until Walker emerged. Now if he doesn't keep them to 5 touches and a goal or less people say he had a bad game.

He has probably the toughest job in the team. He's going to get beaten sometimes even if he plays well.

Disagree on this one. Walkers an important player and Is well and truly B22 now.
He was marking the games best small forward at the weekend IMO. Pickett will get a hold of much more experienced players than Walker this year.
Need to get Brandon up to 80 games ASAP he’s going to be a gun
Spot on - he doesn’t need more games at Peel. A rest will do him the world of good. Also he would have learnt a lot from playing in Pickett. He is really impressing me the way he has developed this year improvement across the board. Yes he gets caught HTB. One time I reckon the umpires blew the whistle super quick. Anyway I agree with you.

Don't mean to pile on ... but Walker's not learning anything playing at Peel, he's learning from occasionally lowering his colours to the Picketts and Charlie Camerons.
But if he plays for Peel during the bye, he’s not being dropped? The only reason you wouldn’t play a current player is because they need a rest, or we can’t afford injuries.

Nothing to be gained by giving him a run at Peel. He's established best 22 now, give him the rest.

Sturt and possibly MJ are the only players I'd be giving a run from Saturday's team.

I hate how some teams lose momentum after the bye

Let’s hope none of them went house hunting in Toorak like Lobb and Acres did!

Ryan on Pickett/Cameron if Walker wasn’t there. Would be 12 goals kicked on him.
Walker is playing them smart.
Pickett kicked 2 from tough angles. One with a fluke bounce over Young, and a snap with the left. Otherwise, was a fair game.

Watching the last qtr again tonight and Walker's HTB shouldn't have even been a free. He handballed it instantly but the umpire was blindside and didn't see it.

I reckon Viney alone had two that were more blatant than that in the next 10 minutes that weren't called after he either dropped it or threw it in the tackle.

Would like to see Walker go back to Peel this week for the bye, he is a work in progress and while he has some good attributes,he also has some glaring deficiencies.Yes he had 3 good weeks but thought he was poor this weekend and needs to keep learning new skills. He can break through packs with quick change of direction but other times lacks awareness and gets caught way to often.Needs a mentor like Roger Hayden to work 1 on 1 .Needs more aggression at opponent and not be to kind .When he just stood off and coralled instead of pressuring the ball carrier in the last quarter it was very poor tactics at a critical time of the game.He is young and has time but in a pressure type scenario he can be a weak link right now.If i wrote the unedited version of this after the siren blew i would have probably been banned, such was the stress levels.I am so much calmer now
Regardless of if it would be of benefit or not. Pretty sure we aren’t allowed to play him during the bye round anyway, he’s played too many senior games and the bye exists as part of the players association demands to stop burning out during a 22 (23 this year) season. From memory cut off is 7 senior games means you have to rest during the bye.
MJ, Sturt, Erasmus and Brodie should all be eligible to play for peel though.

MJ, Ras and Brodie. Decent midfield 😁

Any chance we take Brodie instead of Ras? I think he'd probably have more of a JOM impact in terms of extraction and clearance work.
Yeh. Might be worth seeing how he goes now that the team are playing well and the mids have switched up their play.

Feels very unfair to Ras who was in the team and wasn’t dropped but “managed” for Brodie to overtake him

You know I always bang on about getting Ras in but we should play who will get us the win. The tiges are going to give us some trouble at home so if we need a more experienced bigger body I am all for Brodie.

If Walters fit
In: Walters, Ras
Out: Darcy, JOM

If not fit
In: The Kueken, Ras
Out: Darcy, JOM

Dam was gonna post this and you beat me to it.

I like first option best

I'd like to see Brodie sub as he coming on and attacking through the middle will help provide a chop out for a few of our mids and could distribute to the outside nicely

Erasmus to start and hopefully play as good as he did against Sydney

Sturt wasn't effective as sub unfortunately

Granted Brodie works on whatever it is he needs to work on, I think it's a no brainer for him to come straight in. We saw what he could do last year with the same midfield mix. He was first in the team for clearances, and 2nd in tackles behind only Brayshaw. And is still second in the team for average clearances this year. The issue to me was that he and JOM were very similar players. Love Ras but I'd back in Brodie for this game.

Even in the WAFL Brodie is averaging 29 touches and 4.7 tackles vs Ras 20 touches and 6.5 tackles.
