In a weird kinda way we seem to play better when no one is expecting us to win, this game has a lot of the same vibe as us at the SCG last year
Do we? Outside of the Gold Coast and GWS games I’m not sure we’ve won many games the bookies didn’t have us favourites.

If anything we’ve gone really bad inconsistently in games that we were slight favourites/slight underdogs. Pretty much as you’d expect from 50/50 except a few of the bad performances have been really really bad.

Tough GC Road Trip? They stay oat the Sofitel, have more supporters at the game than the home team, and the flight is what, two hours?
Apart from that, I concur, reckon we could give this a shake
They lost their Gold Coast away game last year and then dropped the next three at the MCG and ruined their finals hope. Essendon was the first team that knocked them off of that home run. Should be a good test as they will want to fix that too.

I would love to see Brisbane beat the doggies, it not only helps us immensely but puts Brissie only two points behind the pies, and they might get the famous wobbles.
It could be like watching Greg Norman getting chased down by Nick Faldo in the last round at Augusta
I honestly think the pies this year will be the Sydney of 2024. You have to have all guns blazing by late August and, with their age, I can see them dropping off.

Just bring the same level of intensity and tackling pressure we showed against Hawthorn, and the results will take care of itself...hoping that it is the brand we are going to play here on out and not a one-off because they wanted to send Walters off in style..
Jeez, there was just a little bit of the 2013 Prelim about the way the team tackled and applied pressure against the Hawks. If that's the new standard, then strap yourselves in for a fun end to the year.

$3.40 to beat the Pies is where the bookies have us. On the back of a tough GC road trip, I think this is right up our alley as a typical Docker surprise away win at the ‘G.
Outside of the genuinely shite teams, I'm not sure we're much more likely to cause an upset than anyone else.

Feels like everyone does it 1-2 times a season except the genuinely shite teams. Having said that West Coast beating anyone is an upset so perhaps it's all relative I suppose.

I don't think we've lost too many games we'd be considered certainties by neutrals either - maybe games where we're 55% chance but maybe only one or two games where it's much more than that.

Not many teams could withstand that sort of pressure and win. Could be Collingwood, but I'm not convinced they have the Premiership all tied up. Guess we'll find out

They did it against the suns. I’m not sure it’s sustainable to bring that effort for four quarters every game but if we can do it for the last quarter, if wharfie time is a state of mind that switches on in the last 15 minutes of a game, then I’d be happy with that

Was it a game against the Pies at the G where Pearce broke his leg (ankle?) seemingly from just kicking the ball?

They're going to be ultra cautious with a hot spot in his leg. I'm surprised they cleared him to play against Sydney.

Good. We want em at full strength! Youngy missiles are going to break this game open through the middle! Shai is ready to really rip a game apart. Jye comes out of his slump and kicks a bag on Moore. Andy to have a headgear game equal to Jordan's flu game. And Freddy to bring the flip cellie out once again. The AFL has missed the mark by not having this under Friday night lights.

Moore would be a dream match for Jye if we lower our eyes. He loves to sit 5-10m off players.
