Johnson needs to stay in at all costs including Henry. We will but we shouldn’t.
Watching the game again I think the issue with Brodie is that an onball division of Brodie, Brayshaw, Serong and JOM is too slow in the middle. We started to get on top through the middle basically because of Switkowski as a link up player on turnover. Even in the centre clearances we got smashed against North cos they were quicker to the ball and then quicker to spread and win the clearance on the outside. Hughes coming in as a wing compounds the issue, Acres wasn't quick but he was quicker than Hughes. We need to keep Drizz and Henry as our wings so we can actually move the ball quickly

Hughes is deceptively fast. He has even won the fastest sprint speed of the round a few years back, clocking a speed just above Gary Rohan. Hughes would be comfortably faster than Acres and Henry.
Your other point on the quartet in the middle is still valid. Although a large part of North's dominance was not just speed, but pure size/power.
Personally not confident Johnson can do a full game on the wing at this stage of his career. We can't really bring Sturt in this week can we.
I'd sent hughes out and give johnson a full game on wing, rotating with aish inside.
Fyfe to come back through the sub
Johnson YesJohnson needs to stay in at all costs including Henry.
Lol you don't want Hughes or Banfield but want Collyer. Go figureI find myself in a weird position. I still believe that there are some significant changes that would improve the team. But given my inability to agree with the match committee I am afraid that they will be given too much license and we will do something bone headed like dropping Amiss for Fyfe.
What I really want is
Out: Chapman, Henry
In: Walker, Colyer
Unfortunately Colyer is still injured and so I am looking through the list for pace with skill and coming up with ... Oh dear. It seems we didn't draft any pacy mids in the last few years. We went for 10 versions of the same player and surprise, surprise we can't even play JOM, Brayshaw, Serong, Fyfe and Brodie in the midfield without being completely one paced.
Regarding Henry, I suspect he stays in. He would want to improve significantly or when chapman is back he'll get dropped, not Walker.
PS I think we should have a new teams rule. If we select either Hughes or Banfield they are the sub and the other isn't selected. Both Fantastic off the bench.
His kick to Schultz early in the first quarter was probably the first decent kick inside fifty we had had all season until that point lol.Hughes won't be out, he did nothing wrong
I agree with all that mate, I seriously do.Yeah, Tabs stays for me. Took a few grabs and was structurally important.
He didn't get any goals but he didn't need to. His ability to draw the better defenders or help bring the ball to ground, enabled other players to get the goals.
I don't see the point in dropping him, when his replacement probably won't get any goals either and is less important structurally than Tabs
At least now the WAFL is back so we can actually get some development into the fringe forwards
! I standby my earlier synopsis of his game. Very very poor. The fact that some people here accept and defend his mediocrity is astounding. He actually got the Bronx cheers for successfully hitting Freddy with a handball in the 4th. Amiss should be chosen before him every week as he has more forward craft and intellect in his pinky than tabs has in his whole body. Is it no coincidence that whenever Nev makes the forward line look open and not clogged up,because he leads! Even when he's not in the mix he will lead out of the arc knowing his defender will follow and create space. Just a natural.
Lyon said "jiminy jillickers".
Amiss is literally chosen along side tabs what do you even mean.Just watched the game from go to wo again...
Woweee Henry was putrid in every sense of the word. I know people see the potential in him and want to get games into him but if he Is rewarded with a game next week after one of the west derby performances by a docker I will eat my hat. And Tabs! I standby my earlier synopsis of his game. Very very poor. The fact that some people here accept and defend his mediocrity is astounding. Lastly, self confessed eagle boy blonde Hitler youth umpire reamed us at every turn, even robbing shooter of mark of the year by calling touched when was not close enough to see little own hear it. Should be banned from both Eagles and Dockers games.

Is it worth rolling the dice on a Treacy or Sturt or Corbett in the hope one of them does a better job?Tabs spot is up for grabs IF Treacy can dominate Peel for a few weeks or IF Fyfe can get his body right by some miracle. I don’t think Tabs is performing well enough but there’s no one available that would consistently do a better job at the moment - just a sobering thought about our forwardline as much as anything
Yes, Treacy hasnt shown enough to think we'll get consistently more and I dont want the best defender on Amiss. I think we'd be better with Fyfe if he was available. Sturt is a completely different player and Corbett really isnt that good though and doesnt have the benefit of expected growth through gametime (like a Treacy or Amiss)Is it worth rolling the dice on a Treacy or Sturt or Corbett in the hope one of them does a better job?
We aren't getting much out of Tabs at the moment anyway, would changing him out for somebody else be worse?
