Same as everyone else - Tex, Sloane, Knight
Milera, Fog but would love to keep in Gallucci for speed but there’s no one else that can be dropped.
CEY is playing great and will go head on with Wines, Atkins is on the edge. He is just so inconsistent. Other than them everyone is keeping their spots.
Hate to be making decisions when everyone else gets fit.
Can Haas tear a hamstring and have indefinite leave ?

What the stats don't show is that CEY actually did a decent job keeping Cripps in check in addition to what he racked up

Didn't Greenwood have the main job on Cripps, not CEY?

I accept they were both likely working in tandem on Cripps though

Keep THE FOG in. I want to see him steamroll the groper and the thighmaster 2000.

Ideally next year my friend, next year. Though thighmaster 2000 will probably have some blue, yellow or red in his uniform when that occurs.

Greenwood should make way for balance before CEY

Yeah, no.

Greenwood has many more tools then CEY and is currently out performing CEY in the main facets we need performance in (contested disposals/defensive work).

CEY for the most part is just a big bodied, slow inside midfielder. Greenwood at least isn't slow.

Sloane doesn't have to be an inside mid. He'd be very handy rotating through the back flank and wing rotations. Much harder to tag out of the game in those roles as well. Will be interesting to see whether there's any imagination from the coaches.
I'd prefer we just play our best player in the position he plays best, then worry about the rest later.

Fog, Milera and Atkins OUT
Tex, Sloane, Knight IN

Atkins has been so inconsistent. Hardly noticed him on Saturday at the ground. Just goes missing in games.
The Gooch has done enough to keep his spot. Knight can play Atkins spot in the team.
Otherwise the outs are fairly easy.
CEY played a monster game, no way he's getting dropped. Both him and Greenwood can drift forward or back and have really added some points of difference to the mid rotations.

Is he still our best player with a tag though? Teams have worked him out and he doesn’t have an answer.
This. He's absolutely impotent when he's getting scragged on the inside at every ball up.
Put him on the wing where he can break a tag with his gut running and beat any other outside player's hardness/ground ball ability.

I know he’ll be dropped. But I’d love Fogarty to play in the Showdown just because he’ll hand someone their ass within 5mins. You can just tell.
Let him earn it I think. He’s not able to contribute as much as he wants to. Maybe the home game if he rips it up in the twos for a while before it.

I concur. Drop Atkins for knight.
Fog not ready and Milera injured

I’m not convinced we’ll make ourselves more inside by bringing Sloane in and not dropping someone like CEY, despite his game last night.

Sloane, CEY, Crouch and Greenwood all in the same team is a lot of inside mids.

So is Sloane, B Crouch, M Crouch and Greenwood, but they’re all clear best 22 players, and we proved last year that we’re fine in selecting that mix.

CEY is currently doing an excellent job of holding down Brad’s spot and is a certainty to stay in.

As for the talk on this board of Atkins potentially being dropped over Gallucci, that quite simply isn’t happening.

Assuming no further injuries take place between now and Thursday (not a hugely safe assumption atm lol), AND Tex and Sloane are both passed fit, there are only 2 possibilities for selection.

1)
Out: Fogarty, Milera, Gallucci
In: Tex, Knight, Sloane

Or

2)
Out: Fogarty, Milera
In: Tex, Sloane

If an another injury does occur, that injured player going out likely gives Gallucci a reprieve, unless the player is a KPP, in which case Fogarty gets a reprieve, or if it’s Jacobs with an injury, O’Brien comes in.

What rubbish, Greenwood has been OK but not better than Cam. Also he is not what I'd call quick either.

Matt Crouch is the guy our midfield works around and is built on.

I reckon Sloaney is now third banana behind M Crouch and Gibbs.

It aint 2016 anymore.

You cant really tag M Crouch and Gibbs has been tagged most of his career and can deal with it

Greenwood's point of difference is his interceptions in congestion and he always moves the ball forward with repeat effort and quick creativity in close. His reflexes are sensational. He is also a great tackler.

CEY is pretty much a bog standard big bodied slow inside mid. He is playing good footy at the moment and does have great Footy IQ. However he is not really creative just a hard worker with great positioning.
If it came down to these two you would go Greenwood every time as he is unique

Greenwood is a quick thinker, CEY is decidedly not. Everything about CEY seems to happen in ruckman style slow motion, half a second off the pace needed to survive in the AFL pressure game.
CEY is getting much better with his decision making and quickness of hands. After watching the replay I am beginning to wonder if CEY has been taking a leaf out of Greenwoods book is learning to give that reflex handball like Hugh does so well.

I'd prefer we play our players in roles that makes us the most powerful team that we can be. CEY covers Sloane's inside work, Sloane becomes a massive upgrade on the outside player that he squeezes out. It's pretty simple.
