Jonesy played well last week!?!?!
Not sure about that Pete,

Reckon Jones had one of his better games for the year, but that really isn't saying a lot.

Hannan 15 disposals and a goal, rivers 14 disposals and some nice link up play. It literally looks like they only got dumped cos they didn't have a tackle.

The more I look at it the more I'm confused. There is minimal creativeness from midfield/high half forward unless it's melksham. But that campaigner has hardly had a kick in 2020. Pickett maybe.

Jones and Salem across half back might be the slowest pairing in history too.

Yeah i thought Hannan was good as well, especially at the start of the game. I thought he set the tone.

Thought he has more contested marks but apparently only 1 was contested.

Don't like the balance and our ball use is worse off without Riv and Hannan. I think we may get killed on the spread as usual against the Pies. Goody doubling down on CP again as per.

Can't think of the last time I was this confused by selection Rivers I could understand giving him a rest. Hannan getting omitted seems odd considering other players survived.

We are going to get circles run around us, even with 2 days extra break. Let's keep the out of form plodders Jones and AVB in, that won't end badly at all. Oh and for good measure omit one of our form forwards.
Fair to say that on paper the named line up appears a bit sluggish

I didn't say anything about Rivers, or Hannan. Just that Jonesy played well. AVB, Harmes & Melksham all had less impact...

Harmes couldn't have had a worse game, Rivers took too hangers, kicked well, composed throughout. Hannan one of our best forwards. ****ing derp.

Reckon Jones will play the defensive forward role

Happy you didn't say hed play it well 👍

The Hannan dropping makes no sense whatsoever, almost has me believing he's been dropped for an off field incident that we haven't heard about.

Agree. We need goals and Hannan can be a multiple goal kicker. Thought he looked alright last week too. Rivers stiff too. How long do we stick with Harmes, Jones and AVB? Can't carry these blokes against the better teams. This week will be a great time for these 3 to stand up.

Goodwin spends 18 months trying to figure out why our midfield to forward connection is horrible, finally we get a few half forwards who's first instinct is to pass the ball instead of bomb it, Hannan, Pickett, Bennell and Spargo, we finally get three of these guys in the team and look so much better, so he immediately gets rid of one of them and replaces with another inside mid, ffs

2018 we had decent ball users across half forward in Melksham, Petracca, Hannan and Spargo, in 2019 Petracca moves away from this role, Melksham plays deeper and Spargo barely played. ANB, Vanders, Jones and who ever else we've chucked there, they bring some good pressure and tackling and sure you need one or two of these guys, but more than that we need guys who connect to with the forwards

ffs i just hope we win this week

Absolutely baffling isn't it? Almost like Goody put a 50k bet on that we would finish 9th at the start of the season and he's doing everything in his power to make it happen.

Seeing those changes I'm putting a $100 on the pies. Our issue against Collingwood every ****ing time is that we have too many players chase the inside footy and they have a bunch of mid sized forwards that can play high and keep width.
This is one of the worst team selections I can remember in years.

We have Oliver, Viney, Petracca as starting inside mids which pushed Brayshaw out to a wing again with AvB, Jones, Sparrow and Harmes.
That's 9 genuine inside mids in the team.

Collingwood have 2. Pendles and Adams who will probably win the clearances against us, then their midfield is Sidebottom, Phillips, Daicos, Varcoe Hoskin Elliot.
A bunch of hard running goal kicking players who can rotate through half forward.

We are doubling down on our plan which hasn't worked at all lately against them.

Doesn't even bother if we lose Gawn. Feel like it won't effect us even though he's a star
But who do we kick to on the Left HFF?

So we drop Rivers in order to put Lever back to CHB so he can’t play as a third tall like he did last week and played very well? We keep Harmes and drop Hannan? Right. Viney in is fine. Really, should’ve been;

In - Preuss, Viney, Bennell
Out - Jackson, Harmes, AVB

So we just load our team with half a dozen slow midfielders and go back to the pre Adelaide mindset that we can **** with a good thing because all of a sudden we are doing a 2018?

If we win this game I’ll see Peppa pig hurtling across the sky tomorrow evening as I head out to search for which planet I can locate with my telescope. I actually have a telescope, that wasn’t sarcastic.
