Hutchings needs to go to Ablett :padlock:

It's not even up for debate, here's why:

Ranked #2 for goals 🚨
Ranked #2 for goal assists 🚨
Ranked #2 for inside 50's 🚨
Ranked #3 for score involvements 🚨
Ranked #4 for metres gained 🚨

Cut off Garry and they lose a MASSIVE avenue towards goal. We saw it last week, when he has an off day the and his opponent puts physical pressure on him, he wilts and they can't score. In tough, physical games he starts showing his age and looks vulnerable. He is very taggable at his age.

He's kicked 33 goals, arguably the best HFF in the AFL this year along with Walters and very well could have been AA again. He is most certainly still dangerous. Let him roam free at your peril Simpson.

Also add in that he has a better disposal efficiency than any of Selwood, Kelly or Dangerfield.

Selwood is dropping off considerably and shouldn't even be in the tag discussion. Let him start on the wing or wherever he plays now and just go head to head. Statistically speaking this is one of his worst seasons thanks to his age and new role. Quality player but not worth our attention in this game.

Dangerfield can't be tagged and IMO is exposed the most when he goes head to head and has to defend another good player. Yeo is the OBVIOUS match up here and i predict this will happen for simple reasons. Yeo can match up with the most badass players in the AFL and is rarely beaten.

Happy to just go head to head with Kelly. He's not their best midfielder, nor is he the most dangerous.

Honestly if Hutchings goes to stand next to anyone other than Ablett on friday night i'll be concerned right from the get go 🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞

Hmmm. This conjures in me horrible visions of Ablett selling candy to Hutch at will.

But you're probably right. We're light on small defenders as it is. Nelson is the only other candidate really (wouldn't want Shep to take Ablett).

I might be against the majority here, but think Nelson has done a great job in defence as a tagger in recent times (bar the odd mistake e.g. taking on too many tacklers -man needs to his limitations) and would give him first crack on Ablett, which frees up hutch to tag Kelly. Shep to dahlhouse, redden to danger, won’t stop him but may nullify, then Shuey and Yeo to attack attack attack

Play Hutch as a small defender?
Ablett would have him on toast.
Much better to play a pure defender on the baby god
With Yeo going head to head with Dangerman

+1 for Hutchings on Ablett.

Could also play a forward tag on Tom Stewart. He's +100 kicks ahead of the next best teammate (#2 in AFL) and 3:1 to the next best for rebound 50s (#1 in AFL). He is the focal point of getting the ball of defensive 50. Shut him down and you only really need to worry about Tuohy who isn't generally a high possession winner. Tag Hurn and we still have Sheppard and Jetta, and McGovern's field kicking is excellent. Just don't give the ball to Tom Barrass 5m from goal.

This gets my vote. And we don't really have a genuine defensive forward. Hutchings it would have to be.

Tom Cole to play on Ablett

Absolutely not!
I was at that game at LGBT Stadium, and Tommy Cole was constantly leaving Ablett unattended. Especially early when he was carving us up.

If Cole comes in, and it's a big if, I'd see him playing on Miers or Dahlhaus. Ablett is way too dangerous to give that much space to again.

And I have another omen to foretell.

I'll be on bangla road patong in a beer bar for the game. Getting smashed and enjoying what the locals have to offer.

Lock it in Eddie no 2

Shut up........just shut up.
Aussie bar I take it? Then depending on how happy you are a stroll around the Tiger bars? If so visit Sin City bar and say hi to Joe :thumbsu:
