Thanks Mike.

I'm surprised at the lack of love for Fishy in this thread. I thought he had a real crack on Sunday in his limited time, much as Benny "Supersub" Speight did throughout 2011, albeit in a less spectacular way.

Drew's been at his worst against Sydney, Gold Coast and West Coast. All games Tarrant has played in.
Drew started very well against Essendon (other than missing some gettable shots). At that stage, Tarrant was playing a useful decoy forward role, leading Fletcher away from Drew's area.

Things turned to shit that night when Tarrant moved to the backline. Still wondering why.

Thanks Mike.

As am I TT. Seems to be a bit of 'last picked, first dropped'.

There are others that deserve to go before him.

On possible changes to North's team this week, Crocker said ruckman Todd Goldstein was putting the match committee under pressure to pick him.

"We as a match committee still believe that the Petrie- McIntosh-Goldstein thing can work. It worked against Geelong and we think it can work again," he said.

Crocker also said key defender Nathan Grima and tall utility Lachlan Hansen would be strongly considered for selection after good recent form in the VFL. Neither has played a game this season after suffering injuries late in the pre-season.

That actually comes across like they have a tough decision to make!

Surely Goldy goes straight back in against a team with limited rucks? I would have thought it was very simple.

On the surface it is a no-brainer, but I'd rather not communicate to our opposition our exact set up 5 days before game day. Let them worry about multiple issues in the build up to the game.

Very true mate, but I also thought it was a no-brainer change last week for Subi.

That's what the comments have me a little worried it could be groundhog day and Taz stays and Goldy misses... :(

Yeah, I doubt it this time around.

Goldy is a cert to come in I reckon. Similar line up against the Cats.

*A question posed by EH in the Thompson thread that I will address here*

If we do play Hansen up forward, what about Hank? Assuming we also intend to bring Goldy in.

Put him in there too.

The team sitting on top of the ladder doesn't seem to have any problems with a forward line of Kennedy, Lynch, Darling, Cox/Natanui.

How is Petrie, Hansen, Edwards, McIntosh inferior to that lot?

Me rikie.

It's arguably the best assembly of forward marking power in the AFL but it's impotent without the game plan to match.

Worsfolds mantra: Get it forward quickly and create scoring opportunities.

Scotts mantra: Maintain possession.

Last year this was Scott's mantra. Didn't work too well.

Scotts mantra: Maintain possession.
To ensure cleaner entries into the forward 50 for better scoring opportunities. Funnily enough it seems to be working and has even assisted in us being more efficient in front of the sticks.

105 goals 66 behinds so far this season:thumbsu: That's a dramatic improvement on last year.

GC & GWS = 33% matches = 45.40 = 49.7% of all scoring shots. :thumbsu:

Shouldn't forget how big eagles backline is either...McKenzie, Glass, Schofield. We also should be applying the same approach with Grima, Delaney and Thompson.

Eagles best 22 Talls: Cox, Naita, Darling, Lynch, Kennedy, McKenzie, Glass and Schofield.

Roos Best 22 Talls: Goldy, Macca, Petrie, Tarrant/Hansen, Grima, Delaney, Thompson.

Gold Coast are no easy beats so leaving them out is disingenuous. No other team has put the hurt on GWS like we have.

Against 1st, 3rd, 4th and 6th on the ladder we averaged 26 shots a game at a 15.11 conversion rate. In 2011 against all teams we averaged 27 shots at 14.13 per match, so despite our current position and games against four likely top 8 teams, two away, we are scoring better than against all teams last year.
With GWS and GC added we are going at an average of 17.14 for the season.

With this small data group for 2012 it is early to call it definitively better but the signs are positive. I think I'll keep track of this. It'll be interesting to see if this is maintained.

My only change is in bold with Harper out

I'd really like to see Sierakowski start pushing for selection.

He kicked 3 the other day.

Could we play him on wing or summin?

That's awful! I thought he just had hives?

They're the same thing jacko, as was reported in this article.

North director of medical services Steve Saunders told AFL.com.au on Friday that McMahon had been diagnosed with urticaria, commonly known as hives.
