It'll probably happen, and I'm not saying it shouldn't, but playing Dickson would make me a bit nervous. He typically doesn't come back well from injuries.

It wasnt a real injury though was it? Sounded more precautionary. He had 3 great games prior. I crapped last week when o realised he was out.

English is just that new breed of ruckman where they're an oversized midfielder. English uses the ball so much better than a player his size should be able to and he's playing extremely well in that regard.

Exactly. Imagine if we had a fully fit Picken in the side. Imagine if Tom Boyd hadn't got injured (mental health) and was still playing like he did in the 2016 finals. Imagine if we had Morris, one of the best, most experienced, defenders in the AFL. Imagine if Club Champion Liberatore jnr was running around like he was early in the season. Mitch Wallis, tough and proven medium forward and rotation inside mid. And Caleb Daniel, a really special player who can rack up the possessions and had incredible disposal skills by foot.

Our injury woes this season are right up there with most publicised whingers in this genre. We just haven't chosen to rationalise our performance with the injury crutch.

In his press conference after the Adelaide game he said that Caleb might be available "if we go deep (into the finals)"

That's quite a turnaround in a day or so. I'm sure i'm remembering correctly.
I'd be pretty shocked if Caleb played.

hmmm, I look at it the other way. If Libba was in, then Dunks doesn't progress, if Wallis plays, Lippa sends time at footscray, Boyd plays, Schache doesn't, CD is defence the balance is worng, Morris o.k agree with that one.

The game waits for no one, you need to constantly progress. There is always turnover, part of the game, just need the young ones to embrace the challenge.

Trengove to Cameron Cordy to Himmelberg Young to Finlayson. Wood to Daniel Lloyd but also to give the other 3 a chop out as 3rd man up. I don't think we lose to much at all with Hayes going out so think that this change has to happen.

The same observation as a general point applies to all teams, I was commenting about perceptions that our list has been relatively injury free compared to some of the others.

Furthermore, there usually are howls of disappointment here with the final 2 or so selections every week. There are also first 18 popular whipping boys picked out here weekly about who it is claimed get to play because there is no-one else or that the coach likes them. What would be the effect on these regular selection sore points if more of the players I listed had been available?

Would almost consider Hayes or Richards out before West, as, crazily, West seems better suited to finals. Agree on Trenners for Cordy.

West has that real footy smarts about him but Hayes will still be running at the 31 minute mark of the last quarter and Richards has the real X factor. Good problem to have I say.

No it's been on show IMO but he doesn't have enough consistency and doesn't get enough possessions.His possessions and running when he gets it are not the problem it's getting it enough.
