People that think Reilly actually missed with general soreness need to stop believing everything footy clubs say.

It was a polite way to say thanks for the great long service but don't come monday.

Sando: Brent, we can't carry you any longer, you just turn it over too much in the back half. You're cut.
Reilly: Gee Sando, I'm really hurt.
Sando: Great, that's what we'll tell the media.

How many weeks are people thinking Lake will get?

I reckon he's in deep sh_tski.
Given petrie got 1 downgraded for retaliating, lake will get at least 3 imo. Don't think the afl like the look of someone holding someone's throat... Unless the ex fat controller standing over hird

yes indeed. also look at the almost unedifying, very un-AFC like, rush to get Hendo back into the side into the only position Reilly can play. he was a liability against Port and is clearly now seen as a depth player only.

Johnston has poor defensive efforts that hurt his chances of playing AFL ever again. well that's the way I see it anyway.

Podsiadly staying in the side after round two was completely bias selection

Johnston laid 5 tackles in that game, from less than 3 quarters

Podsaidly laid the one, in a full game

Johnston was our leading goal scorer after that stage

Podsiadly has absolutely no defensive efforts

Result? Lets pump games into a desisted fossil

"walker- not mobile, and can hardly run"…you want to play this player?

…no, don't answer that. The less you post the better.

You don't need to be able to be mobile if you are a power forward. But playing two of them hinders the team. Pods has to go

It was also typical sanderson. Instead of dropping a senior player, which all the best clubs do (they are ruthless), he misses with soreness and therefore doesn't have to deal with the 'shame' of the state league. Would lyon have done that?

Hmm we beat the top side with that structure, at least give it a go maybe?
Especially against hawthorn who are short as hell down back.

Who do you plan on playing for Pods just out of interest?

An extra mid, or cameron.

Much better structure, we are too tall up forward with those four types. Podsiadly floating to defence is a bad joke, he is a poor field kick. Henderson and smith have that job covered.

Really can't figure out what games you have been watching. Pods has been taking crucial marks in our defence, absolutely kills the momentum of the other team. He's been a solid loose man. It wasnt Pods fault he got manned up one on one against Carlton. If you had taken tex and done the same it would have ended the same. It was bad coaching that lost us that game.

Should you blokes beat us I do hope you win with some modesty. The absolute dribble coming from North supporters and the Swans supporters is bordering on obsessiveness.
I'm very very worried this Friday, like I said on our board this week could either light our dynasty and power the boys onto something special and/or turn the light off on our great run and see the footy club take that ugly spiral downwards. I'd say good luck but I don't feel as though you blokes need it! Wish us luck lol. Peace

Crows supporters are not like the a***holes down the road who have to big note themselves at every opportunity. I think we all recognise the Hawks as a good side suffering from a bad run with injuries.
No hubris here.

You really have no idea...
He only floats down there when we're having trouble or at the end of quarters to ensure we dont get scored against in red time.
The only time hes genuinely played back is when we stupidly subbed rutten off.

What is this mythical better structure you are talking about.

You do realise with the structure we have right now we are playing the best footy of the season. Each of our tall guys up forward have a separate role.

Jenkins - Second Ruck and key forward. Is the best second ruck/forward in the game right now.
Pods - The floater, is kicking goals, takes heat off of Tex and when need goes down back. Is also a leader out there with a mature footy brain.
Tex - Getting run in his legs, more of a traditional CHF than FF right now.
Lynch - Forward flanker. IMO is not really a "tall" as he plays more like a tall flanker.

You take Pods out for a mid/small forward and the first thing you do is expose Tex to a better defender/and or tighter team defence. The second thing you do is loose that player who fills a hole down back. The third thing you do is lose a defender when we realise Tex is being beaten and struggling. So one of Hendo or Otten has to go up forward and our defence suffers.

Take Jenkins out and Sauce is on his own. Jenkins is also a very good link up player in the middle when not up forward. Can also kick a nice long goal.

Take Tex out and he dominates the SANFL, who cares. He will gain more at AFL level slugging it out with Jenkins and Pods by his side.

Take Lynch out and we lose our best forward flanker.

Like it or not, Pods is one of our most important players. And this is because we have McKernan spudding it up at SANFL level and nothing much else in terms of talls coming through. So him playing is not harming another player's development because our best structure is the one we have right now. It is working, dont change it just because of an archaic view that says too many tall players is not good for structure.

Yeah lake should get three, petrie's reprimand wasn't for retaliating though, his facial gouge happened before the choking.

M.Crouch in for Laird and shuffle. Got smashed in the centre clearances last week, inside mids didn't earn their keep.

Yet we beat them in stoppage clearances and contested ball comfortably.

And why would you drop a half back, small defender for an inside mid?

No changes for mine. Sounds like Danger and Thompson are fine.

Maybe.. maybe not. Many people here thought the same when Truck was "rested" against Port - only for him to return a week later for the GWS game. You could be right, or it could be just wishful thinking on the part of you (and many others).

I'm really worried about this game .....the bounce back factor is huge in this league and Hawthorn will have a backs to the wall mentality .....I'm glad it's a sell out w'll need the crowd behind us...but surprised Hawks are favourites but then again the bookies aren't dumb. Squiggle is predicting a Hawks win, Footy Forecaster have us winning by 2 points

Only 2 weeks for me.

As pointed out on 360 last night, this was just a normal every day wrestle until Petrie's fingers went in Lake's eye (I'm not suggesting Petrie did this on purpose, but upon watching 29 replays, this is what triggered Lake's rage / the choke hold). This doesn't EXCUSE what Lake did, but I believe it REDUCES the sanction from about 4 to about 2 as getting poked in the eye in a manner that Lake would have viewed as deliberately is goin to enrage many a footballer and will be considered as provocation.

So yeah, 2 is my prediction based on that.

Would have been 4 without that.
