Out: Headland (inj), Johnson (Inj), McPharlin (inj)
In: Ballantyne, Bradley (If Fit) & Hinkley:( (His last chance Chris25)
I would prefer Walters or Pearce to Hinkley but we are left little choice.
They will not play Clarke, Brogun & Lade will monster him. He will get a game after the mid year break.

How is this Hinkley's last chance? He's played 11 games, a few good a few bad. WHat a ridiculous statement.

"Ryan Murphy did his chances of a recall no harm with a four-goal effort in South Fremantle’s narrow loss to East Fremantle in the Foundation Day derby yesterday.

Murphy was anything but dominant, but did get through the match unscathed and, provided he pulls up well this morning, could be considered to play against Port, along with Daniel Gilmore, one of the Bulldogs’ better players yesterday."

Yeah... lol our coaches and Malaxos really are ****ing idiots.

Huh? Please explain? He is in his second year and has only played a handful of games ffs. The hinkley bashing is getting a bit tiresome.

If Clarke was to play I don't think he'd spend too much time in the ruck, he'd probably be used more as a key forward.

I've never understand this logic. If a guy is ready, then it shouldn't matter who they will be up against. And in my opinion, Clarke is ready for AFL.

Lade might be bigger than Clarke, but he is not in great form this season and his ruck work isn't as good as in previous years. And around the ground, Clarke would easily have the better of him. I think this could be a good chance for Clarke. Also realistically, he would probably only ruck 20-30% of the match anyway.

Kepler is listed as a test this week, so it would be unlikely for him to come straight in without playing WAFL. So I'd imagine the choice would be between Clarke and Gilmore. I know who I'd prefer.

It's just a bit of banter between myself and Chris25. I'm not saying he is delist material. Just needs to improve his skills at WAFL level.;)

Not hard to get through matches when you are built like Tarzan and never go for a contested posession, tackle or make a 2nd, 3rd effort.

Gilmore & Murphy coming in? Dumb and Dumber :thumbsd::thumbsd::thumbsd: New talent please!!

Well it does matter, and coaches look for the right opportunity to blood young players, not with just a 5 day break and not intentionally set them up to fail. Brogun & Lade are arguable the best ruck combo in the league.Lade might be bigger than Clarke, but he is not in great form this season and his ruck work isn't as good as in previous years. If Kepler is fit he will play, has only missed one week as I stated earlier the 5 day break will influence who is picked this week

I don't really know why Kepler hasn't been considered more often this year. He got plenty of games last year and did okay in most of them. So what's changed this year?

I watched most of the Peel Vs Swannies game on ABC and the Souths Versus Easts game live and this is what I reckon:

Out: Hill (injured or should be rested anyway), Headland(inj.), MJ (inj. ankle), McPharlin (inj I think)

In: Clarke (sparingly as 2nd ruck, mostly forward) If you are losing MJ and McPharlin you have to bring at least 1 tall to replace. Clarke has been improving each week at WAFL. The only other option would be Kiwi but his form doesn't warrant - was pulled from the EP/WP match though so will be at least an emergency? Kepler has some injury issues with his knee doesn't he? Decision making is not Kep's forte which at AFL level is a killer. Murphy was gifted three goals and was constantly caught behind his player when the ball was kicked to him. One particular half hearted effort like that resulted in a chain of possies to Easts staright back down the ground for a goal.

In: Ballantyne (for headland), Hinkley (played well I thought), Pearce (one of swans best deserves elevation).

Walters is a smooth mover and looks class with his disposal but he doesn't get nearly enough of it (fitness?, poor positioning?) to deserve a game of AFL yet.

He played the match, kicked two goals including the matchwinner.

K1W1 played. Kicked the winning goal after a quiet game. Be suprised if he gets the nod on recent form.
Walters I agree probably won't get a look yet but gee I hope he lives up to his potential.
I hope Clancy, Balla & Clarke get the guernsy.

Any chance of Chris Hall getting a game this week in his home state debuting in the same game as his school mate Matty Broadbent

Would be highly unlikey that Hall will debut just yet. He still looks like a 15 year old schoolboy - but he certainly looks like he's going to be a top little player. He had a very good game for East Freo yesterday, but I would think he's still a way off.

Although, stranger things have happened... and that injury list is biting very, very deep into the list....

ok...so now we know the following players have be ruled out who's coming in

OUT - McPharlin, Grover, Johnson and Headland. 4 talls :(

In - Pearce, Ballantyne ?? and ??

Pearce is in for Grover, Ballantyne in for Headland (guess).

Who is our backup ruck? Dont think Clarke will come in, especially after a 5 day break. I think Kepler is the most obvious choice with Gilmore (unfortunately) the 2nd choice.

So for the fourth change, to replace McPharlin, do we go with another tall (Murphy) or do we go with a mid/small player? It actually is supposed to be showers on saturday in Adelaide. If we did go with a smaller player, who would it be? Walters? probably not. Hinkley? Possibly.

thoughts??

He has been playing really poor this season even by WAFL standard.

Harvey has stated only one of campbell, gilmore, clarke and murphy will be considered after the 5 day break. That opens up a spot for either walters or Hinkley you would think to go along with Clancee and Ballas if fit.

OUTS :Grover,McPharlin,Headland,M.Johnson(inj.) & Head

INS:Pearce,Ballantyne,Clarke,Campbell & Hinkley
