If they do t want to push Trengove back anymore and decide to get him out of our forward line, where does he go? Is that the real issue, he's become a redundant backline player?
Interesting point. Is Trengove playing forward because Bassett doesn't want him down back?
If that is so Ken should pull rank and insist Jack plays where he plays best. I'm just guessing here but surely Ken can see that Jacko is not suited at CHF, perhaps Bassett who is a strong character has got the upper hand?

I swear to ****ing Christ if we drop Houston again this week over an injured Hartlett, bombscare Pittard or anonymous Broadbent I'll freak. He's miles better than all of them.

If Howard comes in I think Trengove has to go out unless they have multiple talls (like West Coast). The defence has done too well without him (bar those sides with multiple talls)

What's this condition Hartlett has you speak of? Injured? What's that mean?

Wait a minute, I think it sounds familiar, isn't that that thing that Port Adelaide players don't get? I remember hearing how people reckon Robbie Gray was an 'injured' but our man Ken pulled em in to line.

Who knows, that's why I think Bass should be coach, I think he's 'smarter' then Hinkely.

I'd love to know who makes the calls, all everyone knows is Trengove aint a long term forward.....

Interesting stats in the tiser re Neade, saying he's kicked 3.0 and should remain int he team, on the other hand, Sam Gray has kicked 4.12. Hoping things just get better will kill Ken and the club this year, changes to our forward line via personnel are the one thing Ken needs to try. But hey, Young in Neade out........ will all it will probably be.

no changes needed as we won the last 2 and had a bad game on the weekend. ill back the players to bounce back.
am i doing this right?

yes. wash rinse and repeat.... funny thing is ken looked pretty pissed at goal scoring problems yet makes no real personnel changes to help it..... like bring in a forward?

What would it take to get Brett Eddy in this team? I'd genuinely like to know. Less goals more tackles?

My wife has been going to games with me since 2012. She's quite inexperienced as a football observer but has developed a lot of passion for this team in a short space of time.

You know what she says to me before Saturday night's game? "I like Neade and Sam Gray but I don't think we should be playing them in the same team, they're too small. We can get by with one but not both."

Bugger me. Someone that's been watching the game intensely for all of 5 years can spot our obvious structural deficiency.

Spot on, but I think you left out the part about something like "I'll keep backing in the lads that have done the job this year"etc etc

I hope Hammer doesnt get up. We have enough Half Back Flankers. I would replace him with another mid in Atley.
Hombsch should also come back given their tall forwards. I would have him taking Pittards spot. We then have Houston and Broady as our Back flankers.
Finally, Neade to come out for Howard or Eddy. Its glaringly obvious we need another target up forward.

It appears there is still a mental fragility in key areas of the current team that could possibly be traced back to the 2007 gf debacle and the way the aftermath was handled, and as a number of posters on two sites have been saying for years now, that fragility may not disappear until every player who was on the park on that dark day is gone from the list.

The above aside though, I still believe a better structured forward line, with genuine forwards, with some height, forward nous, and the ability to convert, would improve the team by at least 3 or 4 goals.

Unfortunately if Kern remains as stubborn as he has been, I doubt we will see those changes until yet another season has been consigned to the rubbish bin of time. :(

OUT: Boak (consistently one of our worst), Hartlett (slow, soft, looks injured), Trengove (not a forward - if no position for him down back or in ruck then drop him), Neade (has been ok)

In: Anyone who is hungry, fit & wants to win ,including... Hombsch, Eddy, Amon, Howard, J Atley,
