Ok we got beat by Richmond.
I would look at that line up and say that the balls not being held in the forward line.
Why would you need to hold the ball in if your forwards are actually marking the ****er and kicking goals.

There is no need. After going through the big sticks the ball goes back to the middle anyway.

So Hombsch comes back in. Will Atley and Drew actually get a run? Who will come out?

This seems like a complete luck of the draw, spin the wheel time situation.

I'm surprised that after the talk during the week none of Eddy, Howard or Monfries got included. We have stocked up on our midfield and defence, both of which have been solid this year but not touched our forward line that has been completely afunctional.

goal scoring capability is over rated:oops:

Seriously how hard is it to line up like this

B Jonas Hombsch Byrne-Jones
HB Clurey Trengove Broadbent
C Polec Ebert Pittard
HF Wingard Howard Hartlett
F Eddy Dixon R.Gray

R Ryder Wines SPP

I Houston, Atley, White, Palmer

Ahh, you put White, Atley and Pittard ahead of Boak?

Forwards don't mark the ball. There's a player in front of them one over the back and one waiting for the tap down to run out of defense. We might get 8 goals from talls marking and West Coast would get 16 from our forwards not marking.

Talls have to be very good or they are a waste of time.

Ok, lets pick neade and impey instead, who have no idea how to shark a contest and never will, so the oppo will always get the ball that hits the deck anyway

Before the Richmond game I heard a stat that we were +17 minutes at AO for ball in our forward half. It sounds impressive but what it really means is we're not scoring or we're defending too many kick outs after missing. **** time in forward half, **** repeat inside 50s, kick goals!

Our defense and center square midfield are purring this year and we're persisting with a stale, half eaten sandwich set up of a forward line. It makes me frustrated as hell. Do something Ken...anything ffs.

Once every 20 years or so a season comes along that is so even and circumstantially open that literally any one of 8-10 teams could realistically rise up and win a flag.

Our talent and injury status is such that we could and should be one of the teams at the tip of the spear, but we're locked in doctrinal stagnancy tantamount to the static horrors of WW1 trench warfare.

I'm not sure how I'll feel when Sydney's tank rolls past us this weekend, but it'll really emphasise how self-destructive we've been placing theory before wins.
