Coll v Bris GF

Carlton have completely arsed their way into a prelim off the back of 2 sides not taking their chances. Melbourne should have romped that game in.
And we love it.

Yeah I wouldn't knock it back mate.

Think you'll struggle against Brisbane though

I guess we'll see.
I think Lions will take advantage of errors where others couldn't. Plus they will be a lot fresher.

Yep, in terms of ladder position that deep into a season :thumbsu:

In my one the reasoning was that they were little further adrift of the 8 in points and hadn’t started to make their run, plus the age-old (recently outdated) adage of the 8 mostly being settled by midseason

What’s most impressive about those ladders is that Collingwood were top in Rd 12, Rd 15 and the end of Rd 24.

Best side in it.

Yes, but Carlton to give them credit have arsed themselves to Premierships in 1970 and 1972. Perhaps it is true that fortune favours the brave, not the best, just the brave.

Have to feel for the Dees, they had zero luck in the finals, particularly with the injury curse. Had Petty and Melksham not been injured they would definitely be favourites in a Prelim.

But if Brisbane don't romp the GF in from here I will be stunned and shocked. The so called MCG curse is rubbish. They were 5 goals up on a very good Melbourne team a few months back. They let it slip from there, but that will not happen again.

They will probably face GWS going into their 4th final. Therefore a second half blow out will be on the cards as all the pressure games mount up on them.

Should there be a play off for 3rd between Carlton and Collingwood to settle the BF dispute of who finishes higher? Just kidding

What is brisbanes mcg record the past 5 seasons?

Collingwood Vs Brisbane mcg??? Will be biggest choke since geelong in 08 if you lose that.
We won’t, but will it? Most here are saying it’s Brisbane’s year. They are a team in form.

But it seems clear you’re hurting.

Since then, we've beaten 7 of the teams above us (GC and Dees twice) and only lost to GWS in a dead rubber.
The other 6 teams we haven't faced since the streak began.

Much to my annoyance, credit to Carlton in that they have been resiliant and just finding a way to get it done which is what good teams do. Brisbane may be a step too far this year though.
GWS look fit enough to manage the 6 day break and I cannot wait for this game the way these two teams play football. Likable coaches with great game plans, will be a pressurised, speed ripper.
Coll v Brisbane the likely result, but Id prefer a GWS v Carlton (with an orange win)
