Coll v Bris GF

The media narrative hyping these prelims is terrific. But the reality is that both gws and Carlton are going to get absolutely obliterated this weekend. And the 2 best teams of the year will fight it out in the GF. It’s so obvious what is going to happen this weekend it’s not funny

"the two best teams" ? Sure of you think cumulative points in teh 'fixture' based not everyone plays everyone the same amount of times nonsense determines who the 'best team is'...

People take H&A ladder positions far too seriously - finals are a knockout competition for every team except those who get two shots at losing.

Injury, luck and the bounce of the ball are far more influential to the outcome of a finals game than H&A cumulative points - just ask Melbourne or Port for verification.

You have team H&A 1 and 2 playing off against teams 16th and 15th - from just 12 weeks ago. Start the cumulative point analysis from eh bye and you reverse the order. H&A is an arbitrary irrelevant measure as far as finals results go.

Collingwood and Brisbane have two weeks rest as their advantage - not 'form'.

As you say, it depends on your frame of reference.

Within the competition they are the two best. They played the competition to get the finals advantage.

If you shift the frame of reference they aren't. Those who perceive they are negatively affected - or who are sensitive about appearances and other people's views - are always going to argue against any shift.

I'm happy to get some decent seats at a prelim I didn't think we'd make. If we get to the GF I'll be watching at home with friends, even more amazed at what the club has achieved.

Noise from the peanut gallery isn't worth the time to listen. (But please everyone argue about it as much as possible in the forum 😝 Gotta pay for those tickets)

Either way, next year will be a cracker.

Massive failure for Collingwood and/or Brisbane if neither makes a GF. This year was supposed to be both club's year to compete in a GF. As it was for Melbourne not to make a prelim.

Mind you, the number 1 and 2 ranked clubs haven't met each other in a GF since 2014.
