Where did you get that conclusive statement from?

I heard Jake say on radio a short time ago that he'd been asked by his mate Johannisen earlier today whether he'd made a call on a team and he told him he had not.
Cats are $150 - $200K behind the Bombers pay offer and they are willing to give the Dogs pick 11, he is also more impressed with the Bombers future. He will nominate Essendon next Monday. Forget Stringer, it's not happening.

Lang+C.Guthrie+Stanley+33+51 for Ablett+Saad+19+22

Stanley's contract paid?

Guthrie is not going to agree to be traded when he has 2 brothers + blicavs at the club, won't happen.

It'll be interesting to see how Essendon get the deal done considering they dont want to part with pick 11.

I can't imagine the dogs will accept pick 29 but expect essendon to offer that for 2 weeks-difficult to deal with.

They could deal with Richmond for there first round picks. One of those picks will be used for Naish so it won't hurt them as much if they get Essendon second rounder in return

they are busting at the seems, as they have done some bad deals

If they are chasing motlop and rockliff they are either not bursting at the seams or they are certain guys like hartlett will agree to be traded for cap relief this year (he refused last year).

Fair point.

The deal makes the most sense as Lang+Stanley.

Would GC take that offer in your opinion?

I'm not viewing it as what they want, rather what they'll actually get.

im pretty sure motlop agreed in principal to go to port 2 or 3 months ago and im pretty sure geelong are fully aware of this when it happened

What I heard (its relayed and from the fri game with emotion from people) was that he went to the club to have chat to see whats what. At that point it wasn't overly positive and from there I suspect it landed here. He's gone. Will miss him he was a beauty.

Its not 100% official yet as there no statement from his manager yet. So we still could be in for a chance yet..... lol

Richmond lose points on 15 + 16 for 11 and 29 so no reason for them to do that.

I don't see what need GC have for Stanley their spine is solid.

Fans get all fixated on things like "Pick 11 for Stringer" or "keep Pick 11 forget Stringer" but how often do straight swaps happen now days? It's more like shuffling up and down the order until you get what you want, swap picks x,x,y for Stringer, x, and x. It's easier to find middle ground and easier to sell to angsty members because it's not so straightforward whether it's a win or loss.
Plus unknown players end up moving, etc.

But weeks leading in will be spent by fans debating 11 for Stringer. Or 20 for Stringer. Until trade week and picks and players will be flying around and teams will move up and down the draft order.
