It’s all literally coming to the very last game of the home and away season. It sucks that the AFL let Geelong play without so many of its players, knowing the detrimental impact it has on the composition of the finals. I understand why Geelong did that, but the AFL has a wider responsibility to the game. If we were Richmond or one of the bigger VFL clubs, the AFL would have seen fit to intervene for the “integrity” of the competition. One of the reasons for the pre-final bye was after Fremantle rested so many of their players (albeit after making the final).

Our fate is in our own hands. We must win (or draw) to make the finals - an amazing achievement for a debutant coach with a new system. And if we make the finals, we have the players, coach, selfbelief and passion to go all the way.

The next 12 hours or so will not be good for our nerves! We can miss out on the finals by %, or end up hosting an elimination final (if Swans lose and in the unlikely scenario of us winning by around 50 points). We are playing well, and are just coming off a historic club record score and a 126 point winning margin. We have also played well away - beating Sydney, Geelong, Adelaide, Bulldogs and Melbourne.

C’mon Giants!

Pretty sure Charlie Curnow will play to get his Coleman.
