Unfortunately our reserves play in the SNAFL. The sooner we leave that pissant competition completely the better.

We won the free kick count four times out of eighteen rounds. Those four games were against the bottom four teams (at the end of the season). When the opposition had more frees on average they were +7. When we had more frees we were +2.5.

Anyone know if the free kick stats for previous seasons are available?

Edit: thanks Powerade 08 . Overall we were -88 for free kicks against the other SANFL teams, more than GWS who had the worst free kick differential of -73 in the AFL even though they played 4 more rounds.

The issue is the quality of the free's and where they are paid.

This is the worst part of the game. Free kicks could theoretically be paid all the time. So most free kicks paid are actually free kicks theoretically. Good umpiring is consistent umpiring where same offences always penalised (or not)
