We have struggled getting FA and talent through the door.

The last trade period was a good example.

People thinks its just so easy.

Hang on. We got the most sought after FA last year. Amon was the best FA out there.

That said though, you are partly right. But we should be struggling to get FAs the past 3 or 4 years, we have been an average, ageing team clearly on the decline, why would a 27 year old come to Hawthorn?

This will change as we rise up the ladder. Guys like Bailey Smith or Ben King in the next few years will be firmly on our radar. Im very confident that our midfield will continue to impress and developed key forwards will want to be a part of it.

The Dingley centre couldn't hurt either.

This is a pretty pessimistic take

We don’t need rucks. If Meek/Reeves/Lynch don’t develop, we can top up once we are contending. If Rama comes good, we only need one of those three to develop into a good player.

We need a line breaking mid (sorted if we finish last), one KPF and one KPD. We have enough grunt. Need class.

We have 3 rucks all aged 24 who are all in the infancy of their senior football careers. The two who are playing at the moment have shown glimpses of talent that should make us pretty excited.

Max Gawn was the same age when he finally broke out and played a full season.

It's the one position on the ground where you can't make a judgement call until you have the combination of age and experience as a reference point.

Tom Boyd/Jordon Roughead

The star key forward and full back are rational needs however. Unless Blanck and DGB surprise the hell out of us come seasons end. And Max Ramsden for that matter.

As much as Amon has been great.....he hasn't set the world on fire.

Meek missed a goal from 8 metres out that went out on the full.

This just shouldn't happen.

We need players that are elite that can take the game on. Understand pressure and make THE RIGHT DECISION.

If you think last years intake was top end talent you are easily pleased my friend.

After the first 3 rounds Amon has had the most metres gained of any Hawk. Don't under estimate the impact he is already having and will continue to build on as he gets to know his teammates. He is a fantastic pick up.
