Re: Luke Ball wants to be a Pie

I'd be wrapped if we can get Ball. Apart from his obvious football ability, he is a quality bloke and a leader, which you can never have too many of. :thumbsu:

Re: Luke Ball wants to be a Pie

Exactly Invig. I don't think you guys realise how good this kid is...

Bah, you're probably gonna get an out and out gun for pick 14 in a weak draft...

I can understand why Bally wants to leave though. And good luck to him. :(

He was a great player at his best, but he won't get to that level again. If he could he wouldn't be leaving St. Kilda.

They'll do the right thing by Ball and trade him or else he'll get to Essendon in the PSD anyway.

Re: Luke Ball wants to be a Pie

He did *choose* to leave St. Kilda, after being offered a 3-year deal mid-season. It's not as if they axed him.

This will help his case. We need a couple more players in his age range.

Re: Luke Ball wants to be a Pie

Course. Now that he's leaving suddenly he's an absolute gun. Forget that he can't kick has an injury prone history and recently couldn't get into the Saints best 22, but oh no he's an absolute gun.

Should be lucky to receive a second round draft pick for him.

There is no doubt he would be a good addition to our midfield, but I don't think he's necessary. What is necessary for our midfield is class, not toughness, although you can never get enough toughness especially when they are as tough as Ball.

Bottom line is if he were to add to our midfield, Shaun Burgoyne is much more of a need than Luke Ball. Our toughness in the midfield might not stack against Geelong and St Kilda, but it does with pretty much every other team, and Luke Ball isn't enough to bridge that gap, our young mids putting more weight on will. What's needed is the class and skill, and as good as Ball is in and under, he can't kick.

If we have a chance to get Jolly by spending our first and instead burn it on Ball I will be pissed. Jolly is a dominant tap ruckman, whom has improved dramatically around the ground to the point where he is more than a one trick pony. He is a quality ruckman, one whom could dramatically help us with the deterioration of Fraser. Jolly should remain target number 1.

He missed 5 games this year, and was back into our team as soon as we got into the finals.

You think you'd get a better player than Ball at Pick 14 in this draft? He'll give ya 5-6 years of quality footy, pick 14 will probably be fair hit and miss this season.

But yeah, I can see how you guys wouldn't wanna give us Pick 14 cos you're gonna use it for Jolly...which is fair enough.

There's only one reason why he'd leave. Limited opportunities.

I'm trying to knock down his value.

Re: Luke Ball wants to be a Pie

Thought Ball had a good final series

22 positions or so in the GF with less than half game time - really put his body on the line

Seems he's fallen out with Lyon

Be a great pick up - only thing i'd say is that you'd guys were probably prefer someone with a bit more of pace, because that's probably what your midfield lacks more than anything else

Ball's basically an "in and under," and you've got them already, and from where i stand you're breeding Beams in that role

Oh, well in that case, I hear he's an alien and is homesick. Wants to return to Rygell 4 or some such.

Midfield lacks an in and under to get the footy to Didak, Swan and Davis. As seen during the finals.

If you're unhappy with pick 14 I'd imagine you'll be crying when we give you pick 30 for him. Pick 14 is already committed to the Swans for Jolly.

Re: Luke Ball wants to be a Pie

As a leader a player who gets hard ball and inspirational yes we should try and get him. Im also glad somebody wants to come here to the pies. Lets get him and Jolly too!

Re: Luke Ball wants to be a Pie

lol, if we traded Leon for pick 7 to get Ball as well as Jolly, we'd be back to square one.

Leon Davis is good. True story.

Pickers confirmed Davis is staying at Pies.

No need to keep mentioning him in trades.

Anyway, Ball's worth is judged on what he has done to date. Not how good he was when he was an 18yr old.

Having thought about it, his value is no longer a first round selection.

He is worth a 2nd round + steak knives though.

Re: Luke Ball wants to be a Pie

I'm so thrilled that someone has openly came out and said Collingwood is their preferred destination. Yay!

Yeah, that seems to never happen. I love it :D

I thought Luke was smart. No one deals with Collingwood except Sydney when they know they can bend us over.

Re: Luke Ball wants to be a Pie

Haha best news in a while! Offer pick 30 or let him go into the PSD and put a price on his head.

All we have to do is show him the facilities at the lexus and he will want in fo sho!!!

Is that the high school in Grease:confused:
That's Rydell High, and dude, don't make me think about that movie any more than I have to. :(

I was going for Rigel IV, home of Kang and Kodos. My bad on the spelling, although I'm not sure I've actually ever seen it spelt.

Sorry, but I've been quoting the joker from the dark knight for a fair while in day to day life, it may be time to move on to Danny Zuko.
