This is exciting! A team full of young players will be keen to show their wares compared to a strong Sydney, who will probably be going through the motions. Would rather see Duffy, Tanner, Weller go out and try make a spot for themselves than the oldies playing rusty or going at 50% because this is their 40th or so preseason game.
I'm looking forward to seeing:
- Blakely and Weller
- Grey in defence
- Sandi and Apeness in the forward line
- Fyfe's power in the midfield
- Stephen Hill to continue to dominate
- Continued development of Sutcliffe, Crozier and Sheridan

“Our aim was not to take David Mundy and Matthew Pavlich…but they need to get their minutes up to get ready for round one and that’s why we’ll be taking those guys.
“(In a) perfect world they’d have their minutes up and we wouldn’t take them.
“But they need to get through training today, whereas Luke has got plenty of minutes in so we can afford for him to take the week off and then play against West Coast (next week).”

If Pav plays he should play in the midfield. Because the centre circle is about 5 mentors from 50 metre arc. Sandi to Pav and 9 points. Thank you very much
So McPharlin, Grey and Hannath miss out.
Blakely and Weller probably favourite for the sub vests however at least we get to see them. Otherwise maybe Griffin or Duffy?
Ins for round 1 may include Barlow, Duffield, McPharlin, Taberner, Spurr, D Pearce... So competition for spots will be fierce.
