Maintain and obviously still do that he was exactly the man required for the job and so far he's done very well. Make the tough calls, the players respect him immensely and he goes out of his way to genuinely back his players up. Cops criticism for his championing of those who bring the right attitude but may have other flaws or holes in their record, but I'll back his assessment of which guys are best placed to deliver the right culture over any of the hindsight heroes in the media or in the general public.

Don't see how you can view his tenure in anything other than a positive light as it stands.

Losing a home series to India was tough, but they're clearly the best team in the world atm and it was a bit of a perfect storm having lost our two best batsmen in Australian conditions. Pakistan in the U.A.E was also disappointing, although not at all surprising and there was a fair amount of grit shown in that first test.

Retaining the Ashes for the first time in 18 years is massive though, especially if we can go on and win the series, and we performed as well as could have possibly been expected in the World Cup given our ODI struggles.

So far so good for me. Another big test coming up against NZ this summer.
