Things gone quiet - Jon Ralph dropped this today indicating future still not certain.

But even if the Dons sign up Darcy Parish, they could still lose back-up ruckman Nick Bryan along with key back Brandon Zerk-Thatcher.

Well, good news, he's re-signing!

Intrigued by the WCE interest unless they think he can come quite cheap.....PSD even.
Williams and Jamieson aren't bad rucks

Williams and Jamieson aren't bad rucks

Williams has improved from a very low base but is probably more of a ruck-forward, he’s probably not a #1 ruck.

Jamieson has a long, long way to go and probably also is not a ruckman primarily.

Beyond that, there is very little - Harry Barnett, drafted last year (reputedly the best ruck in the draft), he’s about 2-3 years off at least. Jack Williams has been used to pinch hit, Harry Edwards too.

If Bryan is a genuine ruckman, we could probably use him.

Yeah he’d be stuck behind Williams which would be a dumb move

Clubs that need rucks
North
Sydney
Port

Eagles looking to play Baikey as a deep forward / ruck. He's a high leaping 199cm agile ruck but not a big bodied ruck or as impactful at throw ins or ball ups.

They are looking for a genuine # 1 ruck who can be more effective at throw ins and around the ground.

Anyone who is looking will be looking longer term. He is not physically strong yet and is still 2 or so years away from taking on a number one ruck role .
His weakness is he doesn’t have a physical presence.
Has had an excellent VFL season but it was 90% against opponents his age or younger.
His AFL form was solid .
He is a future prospect and not someone who will lead the ruck next year.

Not sure he has huge upside but very happy to keep him. There just isn’t that many over 200cm guys who can play footy and whilst Bryan has his weaknesses his VFL form clearly shows he’s got ability.
