The "so called great" Judd at 21 years of age, averaged 1 goal per game. Nick last season at 21 years of age, averaged 0.9 goals per game. Those extra two goals in one season really make him "super great" compared to Nick? He also had almost 10 less disposals per game then Nick at the same age.

All this despite playing in a relatively better team, with the support of a better midfield, (Kerr, Cousins, Fletcher) and a better ruckman feeding him (D.Cox).

The other thing that gets harped on in this thread is contested marks by Nick.

Judd NEVER averaged more than 0.3 contested marks per game, in any one season. In fact, apart from a few seasons, he only averaged 0.2-0.1 contested marks per game.

I guess Judd is kind of average in the grand scheme of things, if we use the "goals" and "contested marks" as the same metric we use to ajudicate Nick Daicos.

That's all well and good, but it's been clearly established that it's impossible to compensate for taking 1 less contested mark every 10 games - it's why Buddy will always pale in comparison to Levi Casboult.

This isn't just a potshot like some of the Pies fans in here think it is. Daicos has clearly struggled with a tag in the past as a lot of players do. One of the best ways to deal with it is to isolate the tagging player however Daicos can't do that because he can't win a 1v1 aerial contest.

It’s not the most important stat, it’s just a window into their soul. If you never take one, you probably never go for any which means you are soft. The Goat can’t be soft.

How many of these one on ones happen deep forward these days and frankly if they did would you be silly enough to bet against Nick winning them - they don't have to be won in the air - get it to ground and it's a loose ball at ground level - who are you betting on against him in that situation.
