Collingwood are still strongly involved in discussions about Vic Park redevelopment as a VFL venue...and who knows from there into the future.
The fact is if we owned the Oval and suitable surrounds then we could do enormous things there. As it is we were a tenant and at the mercy of Council.

To be honest, I still don't know why we left Vic Park. Unless there's a reason I'm not aware of, couldn't we have just stayed at Vic Park at redeveloped it?

Wouldn't the local government have tipped some money in too?

We could have kept our spiritual home, saved money and had a nice little stadium to call our own, and actually be able to have lockout traiing sessions.

Again, unless there's something I'm not aware of that was FORCING us out of Vic Park.

True.
If you had to sit down with a blank map and hand select the best possible place for a club to call home then I can't see how we could have done better than Lexus.
Walking distance to everything.

If you want to really have everything, knock down Richmond and build an international air terminal there (leaving enough room for a space port in future of course) and you have everything at your very fingertips.

Oh I remember.

So nostalgic though. The food stands right outside the entrances and stuff were so cool.

Man, it used to suck not having a seat though.

There will be seats aplenty at our new, MCG-sized Elysium Fields.
