There's a certain club in a premiership window that would find Darling pretty handy. Pick 6 coming back would value Jack at pick 20. Possibly overs at this point in his career but Darling would have got Melbourne over the line against Carlton.

NQR forward number 10 on that list

Not sure why there's North supporters being smug in here after their club's disastrous drafting over the past decade.

One draft, where they had picks 2 & 3 and charity from the AFL isn't really grounds for thinking your s**t doesn't stink.

Still need to get a hell of a lot right in this draft and the next couple to have any chance of contending

Also, nobody else actually cares how many picks North have in the top 20, it's irrelevant to other clubs unless they're trading with them.

The fellation over them is embarrassing.
Your mixing smug up with excitement to get 5 of the best 20 kids in. Give us something to look forward to.

WCE are is the exact same boat as us. Need to nail the next couple of drafts - especially before the Tassie team start to take all the early draft picks.

We’ll both be fine. I wouldn’t want to be finishing bottom 2 in 2026-2028 though… 2026 mini draft and 2027 will be what we copped when GCS came in. Fortunately we nailed our picks.

Do the Tassie govt get to vote on which players they draft? It’s almost like that now

Hodge was from Fremantle’s Pick 1 but Hawthorn traded it for Croad and McPharlin and got 1,20,36 back. Which they drafted Mitchell with the number 36 pick in the 2001 draft.

7 was Collingwood’s pick, Hawthorn had 10 which they did a trade with the pies with Bo Nixon from the 2004 draft.

The pick 10 and 37 was from North who Hawthorn got for Nathan Thompson.

So apart from the 2,5 which were PP the rest were traded in.

My point was they are all high (top 10) picks

Where's the evidence that a bunch of late 1sts/early 2nds in one draft lead to a successful rebuild, which is what North has offered for 1?

Far better to take the top quality while you have the chance, which is why WC is asking for 2&3 or they'll keep it

It's almost like some people don't understand that there will be drafts after this one, and that WC will probably be down the bottom for a while....may even get AFL assistance.....

There are going to be plenty of high draft picks for WC to play with over the next few years

Yeah, so do it in another thread.

Also, there's that one idiot who's been bragging about it for the last 3 pages.

This is draft number 3, so yes, 2 more and then we should be looking at trades/FA to fill the last holes.

Zero need to split pick 1 this year though, after splitting our first rounder in the past 2 drafts.

Every club have nuffy posters - including the Eagles.

You also have the option on putting posters on ignore.

Not having a crack at you, but “apart from 2 and 5” is actually the funniest bit of that.
However the narrative on here is “North got given way too much”.
We would’ve been happy with just 2, let alone and 5.

I'd like to think we'll only have one more top 5 pick beyond this year. 2025 should be top 10 but not top 5.

Username to content spot on

Explain how the Hawks dynasty in anyway backs up WC trading pick 1 for a bunch of late 1st rounders as a good idea

Was it Hodge at pick 1?

Or Roughead, Franklin and Lewis at 2,5 and 7

If North want to offer 2, 5 and 7 I'm pretty sure WC will take it

You didn’t reference early first rounders in your original post. You said a ‘volume of first rounders.’ So yeah, you’re wrong
