Traded Taylor Adams [traded to Sydney for pick #33]

Of the recruits I would argue the only player that will make Sydney significantly better is Grundy. Adams wont improve them by the same margin.
Will replace 2022 version of Mills

Warner and Gulden will have some massive contracts coming their way. But you would think they would be in a good place cap wise.

Parker, Heeney and Mills would be largest contracts (all 800k+ surely?) I would guess, but I don't know.
They all signed long contracts some time ago. You would assume that reduces the average amount

He cant but the scg is one of the better grounds to hide that on.

True.

Dont get me wrong, Sydney are probably the benchmark (with Geelong and Brisbane) at getting deals done for good players, and maximising their output.

On this one however, im just not sure. Inside mids are everywhere. I get the experience side of things, but i think the Swans are better than this.

Just my opinion.

how do you know this? My thoughts are a lot less
Report in the HSun back in July - Where does your club spend its salary cap

Isaac Heeney $850,000-$950,000, 27, Forward
Dane Rampe $800,000-$900,000, 33, Defender
Callum Mills $700,000-$800,000, 26, Defender
Tom McCartin $650,000-$750,000, 23, Defender
Luke Parker $650,000-$750,000, 30, Midfielder
Lance Franklin $550,000-$650,000, 36, Forward

He kept moving his money back and back to fit others' salaries in other years (being Ramps), but since 2023 was the final year of that deal, we had to pay him the total amount due.

That is more for mccartin than I would have guessed. Otherwise looks pretty reasonable. Maybe Parker was front ended (because that looks a bit light to me) and Rampe back ended (for similar reasons).

Swans wanted to give Parker three years.. Parker argued and won.. and got his four years.
Maybe the 4 years brought everything down a bit?

Do you know what they say about Adams?

Adams was reported in same article as $600,000-$700,000 this year, not sure what may have been moved or what he was owed for 2024, eg. if $200k was moved to 2024, that'd be up to $800/900k.

Pies get to rip up the deal to pay his contract if Melbourne trades him, as their deal was with Melbourne not Grundy.

Means Sydney will either be paying that $900k a year or Melbourne will be paying some of it.

Via Channel 7 -
Grundy was on around $900,000 a year at Collingwood and the Pies agreed to pay a portion of his contract while he was at Melbourne - somewhere between $250-300,000. But Browne says, under the contract terms, that agreement exists only between Collingwood and Melbourne.
I've heard many sources say the deal stands.

But either way, so what?
.
If Collingwood tear up his deal then he's not on any deal and we can offer whatever we like.

Who says we have to pay him 800?

Nothing compelling Sydney to pay him 800.

So not sure that channel 7 is accurate

And even if it is, so what? Maybe he's prepared to take less to get a game and not play at Casey.

Zero evidence or suggestions that. Sydney will be paying 800.
