Duursma really shouldn't be playing round 1. Has got the ball a fair bit today, but I'd like to see him improve his decision making at Sanfl level before he plays AFL.

Conceding 100 is not good. Though atleast 5 goals were from ****ing stupid shit.

What’s going to happen if a lumbering ruck gives away the 50 to a speedster? He’s just supposed to let the guy sprint like a Rugby Sevens player without a man on the mark?

How do you know when you are allowed to tackle him if the ump doesn’t get to set the mark?

Equally, why should the team who has just won the ball/advantage have to wait for the defense to get all their players back while the big dumb lumbering ruckman takes his time to get back?

If the ‘protected zone’ is a rule, it has to apply to the time that the winner of the free runs the entire 50, as they shouldn’t lose advantage due to gamesmanship from the opponent. It’s up to the defenders to rotate.

I'm not so worried about the last quarter. We went in with three fewer players, lost Lienert early and were clearly practising (poorly) passing it around to kill the game.

Defence seems my biggest worry, a few times coming inboard we didn’t execute well and turned it over.

We definitely have a nice new dynamic to the team, looking positive.
