Just heard on the radio in the car on the way home the AFL have cleared him of the threatening text in view of the fact he's apologised to Bailey Dale and is remorseful....Ho Hum.

The key factor is that Dale didn’t want it to go further and Dogs supported that. If they were outraged and wanted blood, Rioli would have been sanctioned in some way.

That will be the plan, but will need some decent pressure from the midfield to work.

Yup, but that's no different from usual. Even the worst midfield units in the league will have a field day against you if you don't put them under decent pressure.

"Get stuck in" and then he immediately gets to be a victim.

interesting to see if we go Crowbots or if we fight fire with fire. Would love to see some flying of the flag and biffo..... Provided it doesn't cost us goals. Like at quarter breaks when frees can't be paid

If it's that kind of game, sure, though flying the flag/biffo probably works in Ports favour more than ours. We are the favorites after all, and they can be a rather emotional team, whereas we're a group that has a history of being awful at handling the emotional aspect of football.

This is one to Crowbot.

Would Max play on Georgiades?
Butts on Lord

Keane float
No Keane best matchup for Georgiades as need a bigger size.

Worrell could do the job, but prefer him to help out double teaming instead.

If you're contemplating going I would suggest you get your tickets in a hurry. They're expecting 250k+ Port members to fly in from Shanghai.

My predictions: Crows by 12 points. Rankine to win the showdown medal. Rioli in handcuffs by cob Thursday.

Think we'll drop this. Port will come out firing after being demolished and they've shown they're capable of piling on 5 or 6 goals very quickly.
Port will surely come out breathing fire. It'll be all bravado huff and puff. Crows will match it no probs. It's a showdown.

Then we will ****ing smash the campaigners.:)

I think if we rest Tex we will bring Pedlar in as he kicked 4 on Sunday and provided a half forward target.

Peds likes a tackle and it might give Rachele some more midfield time as well.
Has been no hint of aged being rested. Would be a huge surprise if he was

One change only - Hinge for Nank, probably Berry sub again

I have changed my mind. Despite Brodie Smith playing better than anyone could have expected, he will miss out.
To maintain the best structure, we have to play our best available 7 defenders.

In - Hinge. Out - Smith

The second step is to select our best inside midfielder rotations. That means Soligo, Rankine Dawson and Peatling with a little help from Taylor, Berry and Rachele.

The third area is outside mids/wingmen. Cumming will be one but sadly Nank played himself out of this spot. The options are Sholl, Jones, Dowling and Curtin. I would go Curtin and bring Berry into the 22.

That just leaves the Sub. So…..
In - Draper. Out- Nankervis.

Sid is as likely as anyone to have an impact as the Sub and it would be great to give him his first taste of a Showdown.

In reality, I would not be surprised if one of the following are named in the 23. Smith, Nankervis, Jones, Pedlar, Murphy or Cook. I would be surprised, but not disappointed if Edwards, Bond or Ryan are named in the 23.

They are wearing the prison bars.. no better time to to completely crush them and humiliate them if we can
I think this works against them TBH. Constantly bleating about the old SANFL Port Adelaide, when they should be focussed on creating a real AFL history / dynasty. I reckon it's dividing them rather than uniting them.

Showdowns can get a little ugly in the crowd sometimes, and this one already has a bit of a sour smell about it. I’m glad they’re not having the players beat up the ‘hatred’ this week, it could go sideways easily enough.

Hoping for a super hard fought game without nastiness on or off the field.
